Yeah the "integrity" of the simulation is maintained by each system running an identical version of the simulation... there are other ways to prevent cheating but we aren't using them.

Re: Easy IRL -> game model
too high poly, not textured, but vertexcoloured, has holes.. but nice way to 3dscan Enviroments.. Would be interesting if you could use clay machettes of levels.. I think this tech is more to support "augmented reality" spacial modelling so that the device is aware of your surroundings in...

Re: Installation instructions are lacking
Just a quick note on the "terse" instructions... it is my experience that the average user assumes they know everything and stops reading around word seven and starts looking for something they can click on... knowing WHY you have to do something is trivia, all you need to know is that you...

Re: Several issues with multiple weapons
Adding AimWeapon() fixed the positioning of the weapons and made all 3 of them fire, but the weapons still aim at the target. What i want is basically that the Machineguns don't aim at the enemy, but that the Plane aims at the enemy and the weapons fire without rotating. (i also noticed a missing }...

mmh.. as usual some excellent points by gf i could extend the game into the social sphere though, adding a diplomatic meta-game that adds backstabbing bonuses.. (blow up a friends fusionunit to discover the sabotour- unit) I have to diggest that idea of a randomized (part-balance).. There's a great...

Re: How to prevent ..
@SinbadEV... there is a huge problem to make this "Upgrade-missions" fair though... What if the enemy is not reachable without upgraded units? Behind a ocean.. Or behind several other enemys.. Puzzleboxes are great but they have to be solveable.. Artefacts might be interesting as a resear...

What about having exploration and espionage? Finding certain map features or spying on certain enemy structures or units to learn new stuff yourself... this also makes for an interesting game play mechanic where opposing forces may have to avoid building certain things (or at least protecting them b...

Re: spring.exe stopped working
Spring is using your "Graphics Chipset" (aka "Intel(R) HD Graphics Family") instead of a proper GPU. Do you have an actual GPU in the machine or just the Intel stuff? might be related to http://springrts.com/phpbb/viewtopic.php?f=11&t=32023 very likely your laptop has two cpu...

A new alternative for Oculus Rift: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=r9j9tB-e7w4 http://www.cnet.com/news/googles-cardboard-vr-headset-is-no-joke-its-great-for-the-oculus-rift/ ! Re: (blog) missions = maps with Lua (feat. demo-mission for
Skirmish is a "game mode" then... as are missions... I'm not thinking about "how to implement" so much as "how players will interact with the system". If the game mode (Skirmish, BA Chicken Defence, EvoRTS Tutorial Mission One) I've selected only works on certain maps a...

Re: (blog) missions = maps with Lua (feat. demo-mission for
I think it might be worthwhile to think of "Skirmish" as a mission... namely "kill the other guy" or what have you... so, from a player flow you would choose Game > Mission > Map > Players (but in the case of some missions the choices for Map and Players would be limited)

Re: Total Annihilation Zero
I wonder what is your problem? If you didn't grow up learning to play text-adventures with a notebook at the ready you would see needing to write down a map and the hints and clues you find as "needlessly difficult". Old RTS games not having the "ease of use" features present in...

basically you store the same piece in diffrent deformationstages in the model.. 1) store deformation stages as individual pieces 2) ??? 3) lua it The part we can't do is the "morph between"... you could definitely swap pieces out to do transformations, it just wouldn't be smooth unless yo...

So two parts... first engine side extensions to the existing script format and second some kind of "mission script template" format that lobbies could parse to allow users to start missions?

This is probably a terrible idea but... well... you could make your batch file into an exe... http://stackoverflow.com/questions/2000 ... o-exe-fileJonny5isalivetm wrote:I run tasclient, yes hate me :D it has no option to launch a batch file just alternative exe.
