Re: FPS issues, stutter
I would say you have a gfx driver problem, your issue resembles the problem with "threaded optimizations" that existed in nvidia drivers. However, you should benchmark your system to verify that the GPU and CPU perform like they should. Old systems can overheat and become slow due to trapp...

I think you are right because no one reported any desyncs in RD.dansan wrote:That is "normal" spring-multithreaded, and for me it doesn't desync in RD.

Re: thread CPU affinity not set
Although the gadgets may trigger a desync, the underlying reason is a bug in Spring MT. So Nixtux should not waste time fixing this unless he is sure there is something wrong in the gadget, because a new fixed MT is coming. You will get CPU affinity if you download 94.11. Please note that the 94.11 ...

99% chance you are suffering from the pathfinder issue, as mentioned in this thread and many others:Google_Frog wrote:Spring 94.1 is painfully slow or unplayable for a decent portion of the ZK playerbase.

windows 2000 ... But that wasn't very good. It was xp that was the good one. Windows 2000 was imo much better than XP, mainly because it was the last version before M$ switched the desktop/explorer from a professional look to something that is designed for a kindergartener. Yeah, you can tweak XP s...

why didn't you ask, do you want free beer? Although some people say "there is no such thing as a free lunch" I must disagree - a free lunch may actually exist. A free beer however does absolutely not exist and therefore the question is hypothetical. Even if free beer existed, not everyone...

Re: petition for zerver to stay
a significant contributor to the community decided to quit, and remove all of his code from the development branches Two things wrong: I did not quit, I was banned - two times in fact. First by kloot (came as a complete surprise), then by abma. I did not remove any code, and would never do that. It...

I also agree very much to this, it was one of the main reasons why I decided to make the Red Annihilation mutator. If the game is too complex, noobs will be scared off though.hoijui wrote:The game has to be so complex,

Re: Spring developer crisis
AFAIK jK and zerver are about the only people left here with sufficient knowledge of the engine internals And those two are waging a war. This never was any serious war btw. jK is the guy I have the least problem with in this dev team, because he seems to respect democratic principles . Our "f...

The build queue/automation. I.e, when all rally points and such are set up so that you can go AFK and the enemy would still be outspammed.

Good, because the collisions are multithreaded as well, and even scale very nicely as you add additional CPUs.Jools wrote: for xta it was the collissions that slowed down the game

Re: ATI slow performance in 0.94.x versions
Do you have a quad core? Poor man's benchmark: "/cheat" "/give all" four times. Give a move order to 25% of the units. Look at the CPU load in player list (/info) 25% is my estimate for the percentage of units on the move in a typical game (towards end of game, when it really mat...

Re: Spring developer crisis
I was looking at the Spring commit history and was saddened to see we are down to our last 4 active developers (jK, rt, zerver and abma). 3 devs now, because I was just banned  http://springrts.com/phpbb/viewtopic.php?f=11&t=30125&start=20#p540236 I don't see anything in the forum ...
