Re: What is "flat balance?"
For the computer scientists here, we can say the tech tree is very "shallow" or "not deep." That's where the "flat" comes from. The tree is not tall. It may now be more "wide" than it was previously before flat balance. The vast majority of the nodes are at th...

Re: Simbase for 0.96
As you can see here http://springrts.com/phpbb/viewforum.php?f=2 Spring 83.0 came out in November of 2011, nearly three years ago. Yet you dabble in a version that isn't even at 1.0 yet? Get with the times.

Re: What is "flat balance?"
people like Jools What kind of people are those? Flat? Well I guess that would be Jools, knorke, SinbadEV in this thread. Saying a lot of stuff that is diluting the truth. It is frustrating because that is what leads to someone misusing "flat balance" in some other random thread and peopl...

Re: What is "flat balance?"
It's not a loose definition. It's very specific and easy to understand. Saktoth created it, but albator hijacked the term and competely misused it to mean something else. He has no idea what he's talking about. GoogleFrog explained it perfectly but people like Jools keep responding and showing they ...

There's no 'Y' in "Human Parsing Question."Beherith wrote:And the most important question is, is Y a vowel?
I strongly suspect we are being trolled.Sky_walker wrote:ps. If you wonder how I solved the test - I wrote a PHP script counting vowels. I also asked on an IRC for help - they gave me a wrong answer.

People have been playing the game for like nine years now. They accept it. You should stop and think before you make such a grand statement.losbellos wrote:This is unacceptable!!

Re: Midgame joining concept discusison
This topic name is a bit misleading. We can join midgame now. It should be referred to as midgame-team-join. I once made a small fork of ZK called ZK Chat where the players get a commander that could not build units and whenever they talked a chat bubble appeared over their heads. They would all be ...

Re: How do I install the game?
When you create a single player game it pops up an alert informing you that you may need to log onto the multiplayer server to get the content. Did you not get that popup?

Re: New widget: winamp integration (beta)
Most keyboards these days have media buttons for play/pause/next and all the rest. Is that a fact based on some survey or is it speculation? I will admit it's anecdotal, but I own a ridiculous amount (actual number) of keyboards and nearly all of them have media buttons  This actually piqued...

Re: New widget: winamp integration (beta)
Winamp user here. Most keyboards these days have media buttons for play/pause/next and all the rest. I use that if I'm in Spring. Also this might have been more exciting 40 years ago before most people started using dual monitors. But still, nice work Jools, I will try it for fun and the code will b...

Re: Lua "tutorial" guide..blob thing?
Nice tutorial. I agree with the others that there are a lot of knorkisms that could be toned down or removed (even though I enjoy knorkisms in his many posts). I think the majority of it is not so bad, mostly just the beginning section should be rewritten to be less confusing. And stop saying wupdge...

Babble And Rabble (not a name suggestion, just the state of this thread).
Why is everyone locked into that exact acronym? Seems restrictive.

Yes, ZK and Evo override the colors. And even games that don't override it, the colors should be set up by the (auto)host.
