well, these videos are compressed in real time, so you have to take that into account when looking at the mouse movement, but in some of the early spring versions on the site the camera is pretty choppy, i'd also like to see that smoothed out, but it's still not that much of a deal, i just think the...

... java is bytecode , there's no such thing as 'normal bytecode'. if you mean like C++ then that's compiled into binary, yes. java is NOT a script (as in interperated language), there's javascript but that's not really related to java at all... and yeah to me that looks like a mix of pseudo code an...

i think it would be a good idea to be honest, although on a much smaller scale, not like a big database of maps... just if there's 4 people on a server, and 3 of them have the map, them all uploading would be better than just one, you could have list of required files and hashes for them. (which is ...

i know what a demo is, i've used them in many games, what i meant was recording the mouse movements so when you played it the second time to get the audio, the sounds would appear 'correctly' (since the sounds are dynamic and being further away from something reduces the volume of it)

right, i see. well i guess the only way around that would be to record camera movement, but i don't think anyone's bothered, also is there an option to output uncompressed video? edit: as for the walk animation, as far as i know they use the same ones but interpolate them, and people ARE working on ...

sj, in quake3 for ripping sound, most people capture all the frames of video, then play the demo again and switch the recording output in sndvol32 to stereo mixer and use a normal app to capture it, then sync the sound up themselves, so that's how you could add sound to the videos you release anyway...

at what point have the SYs said they'll be hosting a server? the early spring versions have their own servers. (at least the one i have) i highly doubt there's going to be ONE server for spring, probably just the option for people to run their own servers. it seems like most of the people who give s...
