Re: disallow renames in lobby for normal users?
I'm not certain I'd change it either, but if I did change it, I'd introduce a unique and permanent identifier which is not visible in normal usage, to which I would bind names and - potentially - other tags such as clans. Seems like a reasonable solution, I see it in a lot of multi-service systems....

Why Debian for your only OS? I ask because, personally, I would pick Mint. Congrats, though!

I'm not sure who would buy the Total Annihilation IP. The passionate are spoiled for spiritual successors and derivations, the IP itself is dated and difficult to apply, and the genre is not precisely thriving.

I'm not certain I agree, bright colours persist in most unsavoury environments.

This is known, has been happening for years. I don't mind it, it provides another crease to prevent functional stalemate. It does have to do with trajectory intercept, can't remember the details. Not really a bug.

Re: Starcrap 2 APM
Yeah and there is a lot of difference between drones and fighter jets. In the physics involved and the investment risk. I mean, I can pilot an rc copter, but if you give me control of a fighter jet I hope you aren't going to need it later. If you can pilot a RC helicopter, you can fly a fighter jet...

Google, I don't think many people discounted ZK and ZKL - I certainly didn't. That is needless hostility, that is. :-) I was hoping some of the core community members would gather and decide on what to do next, assign tasks among themselves, then do it….like how things are done with the engine devel...

Re: Promotion/Advertising for Spring
I've never been convinced that we shouldn't advertise Spring as a whole because it is a game engine, not a game, but at the same time I recognize that it is a game engine, and nothing without the games that populate it. The fact is that when I advertised Spring titles aggressively, I found no effect...

"We're deathly afraid of that stabbing word "pretentious," the word that students use to curse each other's ambition. It's a young person's word, a shortcut-to-thinking word. I'm a big fan of pretension. It means "an aspiration or intention that may or may not reach fulfillment.&...

Well, ignoring your initial "hipster rubbish" comment - elitism is fractal, after all - you've sold me. That sounds delightful, I like (in)sanity as a supermechanic, but in general I find it limited to very focused games such as Amnesia or Penumbra. I'm eager to see how it interlocks with ...

Re: smoth's junk.
Hurm... well, it has been a long time since I textured, but I think I would err on the side of tinting sections of the body metal, sort of a tint accent? Eh, that would probably lead to awkward colour muddle in the end.
