Pathfinding seems to have improved with 85 / BA 7.63. Or maybe I was just crazy? In any case, there are a few problems, but I may have err overblown them a bit. (Rather than reply to your question in the other thread, I'm doing so here.) I don't know if my feedback is at all useful, because I played BA on this map. Played a couple of 1v1 BA matches on it. The metal layout is more sane than the the last version of this map I've played (11), and it looks great of course. err, oops, one large problem: i screwed up the metal map. large spots produce 3 instead of 2, and small ones 0.67 instead of 1. bugfix forthcoming...

I second SirArtturi's erosion suggestion. Other than the unnatural ramps, though, it looks fun to play and pleasing to the eye. I like the classic metal spots. Are the silver and copper colors supposed to indicate different metal values?

I agree with AF about Balance of Power. I also think that any name whose acronym includes BA is a bad idea.

Here's my deeply unhelpful feedback: make whichever map you're most excited about--it'll be bound to turn out better. From the looks of it, you've invested a lot more into Map 4.

The cliff texturing and shaping looks great. The corner hills look a bit too defensible (it looks like they each only have one entrance/exit). But then I enjoy making players suffer.

For some reason on springfiles the download link points to http://springfiles.com/downloadmain/, i.e. points to no file, whereas the mirror link correctly points to http://springfiles.com/downloadmain/15642. Confusing.

Map 1, on an island, with a cherry on top. I haven't seen many maps that use spiral ramps. I like the idea.

edit: by "haven't seen many" I mean that I can't recall seeing any maps with such ramps.

Heh, I like the simple solution. But I have a few small changes I want to make to the heightmap anyway, so I'll make another revision fairly soon that's 16-bit. I worked out a fairly easy way to do it with Photoshop and Wilbur (as far as I can tell, l3dt only does erosion in the designmap --> height...
