Re: may be dellete DSD

As a total nub at BA I can't really comment on that, but it's difficult to imagine things being like that in ZK. In team games it's always "take every mex that you can, typically aiming to get more than half the map". Once you've built up enough territory/eco then you worry about teching, ...

Re: may be dellete DSD

Something to consider for that, in ZK communism uses a payback system for eco stuff. Basically if you build a mex, your metal income is privatized until the mex has been paid for (and you still get communist income on top of that which does not subtract from your credit). For BA I think it'd make se...

Re: may be dellete DSD

I don't think the reason why everyone plays 8v8 on DSD all day is necessarily because people like DSD or because they think it's the best map ever or anything like that. At least from what I've heard, the main issue comes down to the fact that BA does not have any resource sharing system. What that ...

Re: Spring Map Edit Revisted

After fixing the bugs that came up and running some tests, I've determined that the new elmo-denominated SME is in fact compatible with old non-mapinfo.lua formats. Apparently the old format used the exact same minheight-maxheight-waterplane-is-zero that mapinfo.lua does, also in elmos, and it was j...

Re: Spring Map Edit Revisted

Basically there's a mountain that isn't rendered when viewed from this side. The wrong triangles are being culled causing the weird things to happen. That seems to be a JOGL issue, and probably linux-specific. JOGL is a piece of crap and I'm getting rid of it one way or the other. I guess I don't s...

Re: Spring Map Edit Revisted

This is the first SME release I've tested since ages. I don't think I tried anything in this thread even. Issues: - Script start_linux_x64.sh should have a +x mode (execute), and with unix file endings, otherwise we get errors about the wrong interpreter. Derp, broke that. I'm not on linux so I can...

Re: Spring Map Edit Revisted

So, I finally got it cleaned up to the point where I feel like making a release. I'm calling this release 1.4.0 in line with the 1.3.x released here previously. This version moves to a single-window interface with all the brush selection windows also combined into the brush control panel. The interf...

Re: Spring Map Edit Revisted

Bad news. I got it ported to JOGL 2.x but the JVM crashes after a few seconds when running JOGL 2.x. I have no idea why, possibly just because JOGL 2.x hates fixed-function openGL, but there doesn't seem to be anything I can do about it at least for the near future. Eventually I plan on switching to...

Re: Spring Map Edit Revisted

After looking at all the evidence it seems like JOGL is the most likely culprit. JOGL 1.1.1 is ancient to the point where I'm surprised that it supported OSX64 at all, and it most definitely doesn't support any of the recent changes to the OS. Unfortunately upgrading JOGL is not exactly trivial, so ...

Re: Spring Map Edit Revisted

Basically all I can tell you is that it's either a conflict between SWT and JOGL or a conflict between SWT/JOGL and cocoa. Unfortunately I have no idea what SWT/JOGL versions codeman used, but that'd be the basic starting point.

Re: Spring Map Edit Revisted

The two normal errors are just from the newlines in the script file, which doesn't actually break anything. The output of that ridiculous dump just says "SWT is broken". The only thing I can suggest is to try downgrading SWT until you find a version that works. SME should really only take ...

Re: Spring Map Edit Revisted

Urg. What about the terminal? If you're not getting a terminal window however you happen to be launching it (does double-click work?) then launch it so that you get one and can see the output. It should be saying something after it runs the java command.

Re: Spring Map Edit Revisted

hmm.. note that you have to append -XstartOnFirstThread to java's arguments and not to sme's arguments, as in: java -cp springmapedit.jar:lib_osx64/gluegen-rt.jar:lib_osx64/jogl.jar:lib_osx64/swt.jar -XstartOnFirstThread -Xms512m -Xmx4g -Djava.library.path=lib_osx64 application.SpringMapEditApplicat...

Re: Spring Map Edit Revisted

They go in the lib_osx64 folder, and you only need the two jar files. It's possible that sme was using the wrong version of swt in the osx64 folder, which is something I'll fix.

Re: Spring Map Edit Revisted

ok now I sort of see the problem. It isn't loading the replacements correctly, ie it isn't replacing $maxmem with the value correctly, and it isn't replacing $lib with the library directory either. Basically the error you got said 'libraries not found'. Some of the errors you're getting may be due t...

Re: Spring Map Edit Revisted

That basically means that the script ran and tried to launch java, but java did not accept the arguments it gave. The specific error you got suggests that something is overriding java's minimum heap size and making it bigger than 2g (thus a max of 2g would be invalid). Try editing the script and cha...

Re: Spring Map Edit Revisted

hmm, it looks like it's trying to run a sh script in bash. Apparently osx has some derpy quirks about that: http://apple.stackexchange.com/questions/101170/why-do-i-need-to-put-sh-before-running-sh-files so basically you have to type: sh start_macosx64.sh Edit: If you cd to your SME folder and type:...

Re: Spring Map Edit Revisted

I don't know if compiling maps would work, since apparently SME wasn't able to compile on linux, but maybe that was all just voodoo. I have no idea.

Anyway: https://github.com/mtroyka/SpringMapEdi ... /tag/1.3.1

here's a tentative release so you can at least test it.

Re: Spring Map Edit Revisted

Alright, my commits were backing up to the point where I started forgetting what I had even done, so I went ahead and made a github repository for it: https://github.com/mtroyka/SpringMapEdit If you want to commit something just fork and pull request. I added gitignore stuff for a few things, but if...
