OK, I just let 4 NTAIs play a FFA on Lava Highground. I copied over the AA 1.46 buildtree for now just to see what happened. There seems to be more wrong than simply the buildtrees: The first scouts always go to the top left corner of the map. I think this used to happen a lot, and was a result of t...

AF, can you explain some of the things you've done in commander.txt and the other buildtree stuff? If a commander comes to the B_BUILDER tag, does that queue a builder at a factory and have the commander assist building? If the AI builds 2 construction kbots, and armck.txt starts say, armmex, armmex...

@Cyder: it's something about cable technology... it's basically just a lazy server not bothering to cycle because the ISP acctually has to ahev enough IPs for everyone anyways... @AF (or whoever said it): 4,228,250,625 = Maxium Number of IPs, (well, subtract about 49,744,125 for 10,192 and 172 etc....

Re: air domination on large maps. I have seen players using aircraft to expand quickly on large maps. But I have never seen a game on a large map become aircraft only. Air defence is too effective for that. The only way you're going to punch through LRMs and flak with aircraft is with a good 3-5x as...

With 7zip, you can reduce the size of a replay by to 1/3 of his original size. It's approximately 500-1000 ko for one hours...that's not so much. In the time it takes to compress the replay with 7zip though, you've probably used as much time as it takes to send the uncompressed file anyway. Up to a...

It would be cool if spectators could join mid-game at least. If we can do this, we can do that. Same problem really. I realise that from a technical point of view, it's the same thing. But I can see players joining mid-game to be a bit awkward, i.e. drop in with only a comm when everyone else is T2...

The more I play this, the more impressed I am by AAI. It's far more stable than the other AIs from what I've played so far. The only real weaknesses are a lack of early aggression and not building many T2 units later in the game. I assume the latter is due to learning taking a while, and I imagine w...
