Spring version contest!

Re: OMG STOP OVERUSING LUA
Trademark, seriously go lick a cock or a lollipop or something and stop your yammering. Lua is better than tdf because its an actual programming language. This allows you to for example import data for all planes from a central file, or do math in the actual file. Its no longer data, its a program....

Re: Cool new rendering technology... maybe?
Depends on your architecture and the way you design your game to be. Physics can always just specify "frame YYY of model XXX of animation ZZZ", still you do not have to render the model or the polygons if you are not looking at them. Again true. If having a massive world prerendered then ...

Re: Cool new rendering technology... maybe?
Now, i may just be even more confused then before, but if you aren't rendering things you can't see what would hapend if a creature was going to attack you from behind? As i see it, these points that don't render when not on screen is all good when it comes to static unchanging things, but things t...

Re: Cool new rendering technology... maybe?
I just though of a way to sidestep the problem i just presented, if you only have one gigantic cloud point, as big as a planet in comparision to the enviorment, then the whole reflection problem would be solved, since this would give a smooth surface. But this seams like overkill, and dynamic water ...

Re: Cool new rendering technology... maybe?
But wouldn't this "strength" become a weakness when it comes to the water surface? Wouldn't you need endlessly amounts of these round atoms to make the water surface look any good? I dont have much clue about this but why would water need more atoms than normal ground? You just have to fi...

Re: Cool new rendering technology... maybe?
I would probably most likely to fall under the category of amatur when it comes alot of these things, but i'm still curious in how they made that water using "point cloud data system". As i understand the strength with this system is that it is alot of "atom-like" points, this ma...

Re: Starcraft II beta is out!
All of the crack AIs are useless. They don't attack / retreat properly. Revenge where did you get these fail AIs? Sure i have no problem beating the latest version of the custom AI, but it is still fairly good, for being an AI. All of the crack AIs are useless. They don't attack / retreat properly....

Re: Un-Hardcode Accuracy/Sprayangle Bonuses With XP
When i first read this post i was quite bewildered since i interpreted the topic as XP users would have better accuracy/sprayangle bonuses then linux/mac users... Then i realised that i was just being stupid. I guess not playing Spring mods for awhile makes you forget such ingame things as un...

Re: Requesting new awesome map!!!
You can make maps without running spring. Whats the fun in making something you can't use yourself? I might do something later on anyway... but then i have a mod project too that i was hoping to make in the future... it have been shelved due to rl stuff, and im guessing the same would go for any ma...

obv this was about sc1  Ah, then its a pretty accuret description, except that you could still shift click the mineral lines with your workers... if you where playing protoss that is. (I'm guessing you are a terran player?) However i find it kinda strange that you would compare sc1 to spring,...

Things that are defined as micro in starcraft but are totally standard in spring and imo gay: -You move a selectiongroup of marines&tanks around. You want to siege the tanks and use marines stimpack. So to siege the tanks you have to deselect everything, select only the tanks and press o hotkey...

Re: Olympics
Its nice to be a Swede in this winter Olympics. =)
I liked watching the men's ski relay race, norway are a tough opponent, and it felt nice when they where 30+ seconds after in the last relay.
However the last norwegian skier did realy well almost gaining 20 seconds and finished on second place.
