Re: Half Rant/Half Advice Request
Python seconded, Java a distant seconded. .NET veto'ed. .NET is not really cross platform.

Re: fighters on "patrol" = performance hit
I guess the performance hit could be reduced a lot by implementing some kind of caching of nearby enemies, but there is a risk it will make the fighters react more slowly to incoming bombers. Anyway, I will look into it. Or maybe the engine can detect when a certain number of planes are on a patrol...

Re: you know what someone needs to make for spring?
If you slow in-game speed to like 0.5 or something, does everything go a lot more smoothly from frame to frame?

Tooltips for LUA widgets, and LUA downloader updates
1) i have no idea what the LUA widgets that come with spring are capable of; tooltip functionality would be nice. 2) i have no idea if i already have or don't have widgets that SpringLobby lists. Maybe check what widgets exist and highlight those that are installed already? 3) Use a caching or pre-d...

Re: Long load times, even with paths already done
aaaaaaaaaaaand a new twist in this tale tried under ubuntu; load times are reasonable (< 2 minutes) but retarded driver issue of some sort is raeping my computer and ocking up after map has loaded, and it loads with checkerboard patches and of course there is no god damn binary blob driver for jaunt...

Re: Multitouch Screen Support (I will dev, looking for interest)
Multitouch support... great idea, but it's going to be a while before it'll make a difference. a long while. 1-2 years easy.

Long load times, even with paths already done
Okay, clocked a load on DSD at a solid 7:55 (7 minutes, 55 seconds, this is with paths already loaded in a previous session). Then the game starts, it lags madly, and the comms are on top of each other, and i click mine to run away, and its still lagging madly, and then the game ends on commsplosion...

This is the coolest thing anyone has done with spring, ever.
Edit: Holy crap, did I see a comm-nap ? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ILsQlqI4 ... re=related (left side, maybe 25 second mark?)
Edit: crap, another one! cool!

Machida v Silva
Yes, Machida is a weight-class above above, and much bigger, but it's still something I think would be interesting to see - both are skilled grapplers, and it would be so cool to see Muay Thai vs Shotokan...

Re: Wass goin on negrs
To clarify, this is not an "I'm Back" thread; it's more like asking for a synopsis of what's going on. Cuz I don't have lobbies or stuff, installed. I lurk, but infrequently. I never really left. And I don't have a good enough or decent enough internet connection to bother downloading 3 gi...
