Is it really a bet if there is no chance involved in the optimal strategy? Johannes bets on his gladiator: Success -> He to spend an extra 35 on his gladiator next round. Failure -> He doesn't care about the 35 point penalty because he's been knocked out. Might as well give 35 to every winner.
