Re: Two King of the Hill maps
I noticed that qray used blueprint now. Good to see forb's hard work getting accepted by some new mappers. blueprint is jK (and maybe a tad of Smoth). Not forb's! Really? OK that settles it I'm just downright oblivious. :-) I think Forb deserves some credit in spreading it at least. Looked at the s...

Re: Two King of the Hill maps
Also your first map is a plateau and the other one a, neither is a hill . King of the hill is a game mode , not a reflection on the terrain itself. Should we call it "King of the assigned area of terrain" instead? That was supposed to say valley. Don't know where that word vanished. Never...

Re: Two King of the Hill maps
The first one looks nice, but is too derivative of Delta siege island 8-way for me to consider it an original. The second one looks completely unrealistic, and not fun to play on.

Re: TinySkirmish Redux 1.1
That is really beside the point because you should use blueprint anyway. It adds several map options like the ones I mentioned "for free", and may have more in the future. Defining things like features, map info and metal in lua allows other content developers access through the lua enviro...

Just ignore him and start a kickban vote. If the rest of players are even worth your time they should vote yes.

Re: anything against the removal of the SM3 map format?
If you want to reduce map file size, how about you: 1. Write a Carrara plugin that takes this shading tree: http://i44.tinypic.com/sovk9j.png 2. Exports it into the SM3 format (this includes adding the corresponding SM3 API functionality missing for things like distribution functions, noise filters,...

Nah, an 8-core CPU + SSD costs just €215 around here. L3DT is €26.

Re: TinySkirmish Redux 1
If you used blueprint, you could also play this map inverted and with other lighting conditions (via the included lua scripts for map options). It also supports feature placement via text file. I'm advocating it here - but it's not a huge leap, just a small step.

Re: anything against the removal of the SM3 map format?
I experimented a bit with SM3 back when it was still relevant/hyped. Made a somewhat decent looking map that I think never got released (or it simply vanished when the filesites went belly up one after another). Imho there's no need to care further about SM3. SSMF can give amazing results and is a l...

Re: Why not SpringRTS?
Mr Picasso already explained the reasons if you will read the thread. Spring uses scripting to animate nodes on models. Most engines support keyframe and skeleton animation where you (to the best of my limited knowledge) animate inside the 3D software, using even motion sensors to sync humanoid move...

Re: About Work
Well, its very hard to just have an office and have people work for you and not fail. E.g. people start programming project while themselves not being programmers, and they fail to ensure that anyone actually does any work or that it combines correctly, and fail to produce any software. There's als...

For sure, strike any well-developed countries in those regions of the list of candidates. There's also the question of personal security in any poor country, you will be a prime target not just for hoodlums but government officials. Obviously if I had all the answers, I would be busy doing that inst...

Most statistics show this, yes. But people also consume a lot of expensive stuff they don't need.
If you are young, with no family to support and no mortgages then it should be possible to save up some money over time.

I wouldn't go there to work, but to run a business. The thing is with those countries, if you go over there with 10,000 euros you can rent an office and hire people to work for you.

Minimum wages you say? Sweden has minimum wages stipulated in the union collective agreements, approximately 2000 euros/month. Of course many small businesses such as restaurants pay much less since they haven't signed. The government is one of the worst perpetrators of economic crime, theft from ta...
