I think it's great as is.

If you want to build a canal, you can use explosives. I think we can all agree it's more fun that way. ;)

Two/three amendments: 1) There will be an AI in future. 2) Crashing during the loading process is not indicative of firewall/connection issues. It DOES indicate video or other issues. 3) Crashing after loading (with the map displayed, with "Connecting to host" briefly on the screen) does i...

Hotlink? I'm offended. Everything in that post is hosted on my webspace.

Edit: Except for the link to the Evolva site itself.

SJ, try the Omega drivers. They're usually up to date, and have allways worked great for my 9700 mobility. I first started using them when Half Life two came out and the old official drivers were giving me random corrupted textures.

Looking for prettier units?

While we're all waiting for the big remodelling project (great job to those who are working on it by the way), on a whim, I tried the Evolva models, and they work great. We're talking about minor aesthetic changes here, most noticeably to the Fido, Zeus, Flash and Core Commander, but improvements no...

Very slick. How did you get rid of the health bars? I looked through the readme and couldn't find anything, and tilde didn't work either.

Then again I could just be stupid.

And for those of you that don't know, the readme is located in /docs/ in your Spring directory.

Until someone fixes it.

In the meantime, play singleplayer if you must. I just gave instructions for that in another thread.

I would imagine so. Resuming "normal" operation probably involves taking note of a crash log, and restarting the server app.

Well, I don't think quantity was really the problem. Have at a guess there was never more than 100 people on it at one time. I think it's more time and the overall betaness of the system. It will get better as we go along. :)

If you downloaded the full version, it comes with the data files from XTA (another SY project), so you don't need to copy anything. I'm not really sure what to tell you if it's not spawning a commander. I will tell you that it doesn't normally spawn the commander in the middle of your view. Check th...

It seems to be down, and seeing as it's five AM in Sweden, I wouldn't expect it to be back up for another four hours or so, so you may as well go to sleep, or read a book, or probably go back to playing World of Warcrack.

I've been trawling the forums to try and find the two ports associated with Spring, but I can't seem to find them any more, and I want to make sure that the two I have forwarded are right. Obviously I can check the default one set when you host a game, but the one for the lobby... Sigh... 1. Run spring.exe 2. Click yes to "Do you want to be server?" 3. Select "commander 1000 res" script. 4. Select a map. 5. Voila. If your game crashes while loading (with a black screen still), try turning off shadows. If your game crashes after you press enter to start, yo...
