Re: Attaching models onto units?
With the GL approach, will secondary things be aware of the model? Like selection halo widgets? Shadows?

Re: Attaching models onto units?
Sadly this feature has been requested over and over again for years, I don't think it's going to happen. Piece hide/show would probably work but I imagine there are some vicious performance considerations if you get a dozen or so parts for each slot. Codegenning some kind of precompiled list of ever...

I miss '90s blizzard. I miss the Blizzard that made Rock 'n' Roll Racing and Lost Vikings and Starcraft 1. They were awesome.

Use 2 units?
One a immobilized air unit movectrled into the air, and one an untargetable open yardmap that just exists to block building more buildings on the spot?

So it's PVE Tribes?
... the game sounds really interesting, but the fanartish splash-page, StarCraftRipOff logo, and stripperiffic character are all a pretty big turn-off on the web-site.

@Senna
TFC buffed hammers once... I regret to admit that I was one of the people pushing for the Hammer buff.
It was a very bad scene.

Re: Metalmap Free Mexes
Related: now that we're getting coordinates of the metal at start up, could we get a gameoption to add a graphical patch for maps that have invisible or poor-visibility metal patches? Many old maps have invisible metal.

Re: favourite same-screen multiplayer games?
One game I always wished got more development was Tyrian Destruct - Destruct was a minigame hidden in Tyrian. It was an odd real-time Scorched Earth with a team of tanks. Each player had 5 tanks, like in Worms, but they were immobile, like in Scorched Earth. The kicker was it was real-time, like Lie...

As a workaround, open the chat console and type
to force a reload of the luaui system. That should free the memory.

Real reasons BA died:
1) Starcraft 2
2) Zero-K splitting the playerbase.

Re: BAR repo moving + content license
If you ever want to get into a repo, you can't have NC because repos are all technically "commercial" even if they don't make money off the repo itself since they may be tangentially related to moneymaking enterprises.

Wing Commander Armada is a really old attempt at making a game that was a cross between Star Control 1 and Wing Commander... with *very* mixed success.

Re: favourite same-screen multiplayer games?
Beat Hazard has a decent co-op 2-player mode. Really, though - all the best stuff here is on consoles. Fighting games, the Super Smash series, New Super Mario Bros Wii, that new Rayman game, etc. My old Dreamcast got a buttload of fun usage on Chu Chu Rocket and Powerstone 2. There's oodles of great...

Re: And you said spring is ugly?
Very pretty. Nice landscape, and a neat idea with the glowy firefly things... that said I think the lighting might be too bright to go with the fireflies.
