Re: Include 'crans-java-ai' in main build?

Hmm, what also puzzles me is 'energyMake' isn't provided either, but it's set in the unitdef lua files. Mods can have a file unitdefs_post.lua that alters all the unitdefs during loading. zero-K has such a file , it seems to set energyMake of units to zero, probally to use its own scripted resource...

Re: LogFlush

Did not test but think new LogFlushLevel=0 is like old LogFlush=1 because https://github.com/spring/spring/commit/e4b9326c8d335647939213063daf2d1d4df385b6 remove LogFlush, introduce LogFlushLevel: when a log-message with level >= LogFlushLevel is logged, logfile is flushed, else not, see rts/System/...

Re: Mood is a thing for

The Spring.UnitScript.AttachUnit things still works in 98, so seems to be something with that script/model/mod. There was too much other error spam to test the map. The sync/unsynced seperation got changed a bit and requires "stricter" use of if gadgetHandler:IsSyncedCode() then ... else.....

Re: What to do with vulcan?

Long games can reach a state where no progress is made. It can be fun to attack with massive waves of T2 tanks, bots or planes but when even those stop working...then what? It is good to have a weapon that can still make a difference because eventually every game has to come to an end. Buzzsaw/Vulcan...

Re: Making maplists

Think would be good to have the most important commands for quick reference on wiki. !help gives 76 lines of text, bit much ;) and in forum it is spread over many threads... I just updated a bit, removed stuff about Helium (its gone) here: https://springrts.com/wiki/XTA#Important_Autohost_Commands c...

Re: discussion of chili menu for games

I have tried to discuss as contructively as I could: with reasons, posted code, examples,.. There is fundamental difference in goals: You seem to want things to be mostly as they are, set up like a 'hub' for a spring player to play different spring games. I want games to be able to stand on there ow...

Re: Making maplists

Nice. :) Maybe too many lists? Imo could be: [1v1] [teams] [bigteams] [ffa] Teamsizes are not so strict I think. (some maps have start mexes for 3v3 but we play them 2v2 or 4v4 too, without problems) The start of maplist discussion was this: Some XTA players remember enough mapnames from head to pic...

@Jools
did you talk to pnöpel? If not yet, I will ask him to add you..
Btw in your profile it lists group "Nappers" but not under your name.

Re: Posting rules / hints

don't make a problem which isn't one. first find a user who needs to post in community blog, is not a spammer and doesn't fit into the existing groups. That is backwards. For example there is the imo big potential of player-created content. Any random player who uploads videos, makes a wallpaper wr...

Re: Spring needs to have a officially Infrastructure

Much text about Spring-that, Spring-this. Seems to me technology is advancing at okay pace, sadly it is abused: New features could improve and grow the Spring Eco system but people are too egocentric and shortsighted and greedy to cooperate on that. Instead of makig "Spring" better everybo...

Re: discussion of chili menu for games

We are discussing a "SPRING menu" and you talk about things that "completely ignore the entire spring ecosystem"... You don't get it. In this scenario Spring wouldn't distribute .exe files. I perfectly get that. You want the option to make seperate game-installer and distribute ...

Re: Posting rules / hints

I already wrote in https://springrts.com/phpbb/viewtopic.php?f=38&t=32596&start=20#p567406 how groups work. There is nothing to "figure out." Jools or me could ask the pnöpel to add us to some XTA group but does not mean that everyone can do so. That only works for small sub-set of...

So the overhead-cam was not able to look perfectly straight down but is always slightled angled? Why gadget: Do you plan to add more stuff (deleteing features for ex.?) Re: discussion of chili menu for games

Now as far as your questions about what is 'spring menu' in my picture. I'll do me best to explain simply. http://i.imgur.com/U7s1Lyh.png A - hypothetical default backend/UI included with spring, so the user has some way of switching between different things (options, menus, lobbies, chat, whatever...

Re: Changing mouse order behavior. Single target vs area com

For example, i can click guard a unit and the folllow up commandos are what? Fallbacks when it is destroyed? Yup. Once the guarded unit is destroyed the guard will move on to next command. My hate-favorite are constructors: give several buildorders, one order is guard the factory - but "guardi...

Re: discussion of chili menu for games

My question for you: How do you suggest making the running of spring.exe show the 'correct menu' directly? Imo various ideas: 1) Configurable default startscript setting for spring.exe This raises questions: 1.1) What will be the default setting? / How to update it? (if defaultstartscript needs a c...

Re: discussion of chili menu for games

And seperate post, because I really hope you (Funkencool) mean the same thing: "rename spring.exe into nameofgame.exe" isn't even possible right now , much less necessary. As of right now it would just launch into springs default menu, no matter what. It is possible right now. Obviously re...
