Much better, especially the texture.
But the "roundness" makes it look a bit artificial imo.
And how big textures are we talking about here? Small metalpatches like in OTA or some combination of the old and new system with bigger metal patches/areas?

Well, I'd like to have a map of "radar" and "los" dead zones. So basically you can make sections of your map (such as forests) halt radar detection. As I have suggested earlier, I think that units in forests should also be allowed free cloaking (irrelevant of their ability to do...

Looks a bit too much like someone spilled mercury, or T1000 from terminator. Looks a bit to pretty. Needs to be more cracked, rugged. It needs to look a bit more like this... http://img123.echo.cx/img123/8254/metalpatch7uu.jpg if we are going to keep the metalpatches, (I prefer the larger metal area...

You shuld be able to set a level for 100% hardness (indestructible) to stop water forming in craters (moon maps etc).

Mabye a interface buttom with choises: "formation: tight/lose" When set to loose units would try to at all times keep a distance (atleast 2-3x unit width). Using this on goliaths (or other big and slow units) allows smaller supporting units (rockos etc) to move freely within the formation,...

As long as it is a good quality map, 40Mb is acceptable.
But any bigger and the download times starts to be an annoyance.

On topic!: The only thing that needs to be done really is a link at the downloadspage to fileuniverse, about 30 sec of work and all new TASplayers would get a better game with lots of maps and mods etc.

Why not just make a map that is half the size the maps are now, then you would have those tight skirmishes. Instead of playing a 8x8 map with big units, play a 4x4 map with small units. Also, then mapmakers wouldnt need to consider multiple unitsizes, since a map made for small units might not work ...
