Re: Wiki Update
Allright - I can change that. I took the color from existing wiki pages where this color was used for remarks. In the end it's not meant to be present that often though as it's more of an indicator that a proper description still has to be written (even if it just states the obvious). But yeah - I c...

Re: Physically Based Rendering
Like this? EDIT: In terms of a feature request it probably would make sense to get a Lua interface to the terrain chunk rendering. As the terrain is divided into lots of tiny chunks what's missing is a way to identify the respective chunk(s) under a unit via its position on the map followed by the o...

Re: Wiki Update
I started by adapting the LuaCallout template to what I think works comfortably when editing the wiki code. I then started to adapt the Lua System category as you can see here: Original: https://springrts.com/wiki/Lua_System Adapted: https://springrts.com/wiki/User:Master-athmos Apart from missing i...

Re: Physically Based Rendering
I have a question regarding the framework / how the engine handles unit shaders in general: What is the draw order when applying shaders on units with regard to the map rendering? In other words, is it possible to e.g. have an elevator shaft that goes deep down which the fragment shader draws after ...

Re: Wiki Update
I'd like to help if possible. I dug through the Game Development and Lua Scripting pages for the last 2 months to LUAfy Maximum Annihilation and in order to start writing some custom LUA scripts / edit existing ones to my liking. That's also where I noticed the ArmorDefs page and created the topic a...

Re: War Machines RTS
You can just launch it via the Spring.exe and have a look. I didn't look at the unit stats in detail but it basically seems to be BA unit choice wise except for like 2-3 additions (there e.g. was THIS building for Arm). He replaced the TA textures with the basic style you see on the pictures althoug...

Can you PM me your Paypal data too? I'd like to donate something as well...

Re: Maximum Annihilation?
There's nothing I want to put out publicly yet. I know I have to come back with sort of a little bang and that's why I want to keep working on some features, VFX, units and new weapon types that require some LUA scripting. I can't pin down a certain date yet - it's still going to take quite a while ...

Outdated description of Armordefs.lua in Wiki?
I think there is a need for some clarifications and in this process some updates to the Wiki considering the armordefs. I'll sum up what's the problem here from my point of view. The wiki gives the following information about defining the armordefs.lua : You get told prior to Spring v95 the armordef...

Re: Maximum atlas texture size & number
This discussion was continued in Discord. For the record: A command line to save the atlas textures into a file to have a look at probably doesn't exist anymore There is a LUA access to an atlas but it's just the 3do atlas When there is the wish to keep the atlas texture size to a certain limit you ...

Re: Maximum atlas texture size & number
Thanks - that's an interesting survey. What I wanted to be able to check though is the actual size of the atlas in terms of my bitmaps on it. I just realized that this might not be possible anymore though. The question is what decides the texture size chosen for the atlas. Is it just the maximum the...

Maximum atlas texture size & number
I have a question which came up during my work to get my old mod Maximum Annihilation running with the latest engine version again. Back then there was a limit of a 2048x2048 texture for the bitmap atlas which stopped me from importing some more extensive sprite animation sequences. I did a search i...

Re: Maximum Annihilation?
Thanks! For now I pretty much have to start from the ground up and "LUA-fy" all those TDF files. Lots of busywork but I guess it's an opportunity to check for errors, clean up everything and give more structure - especially as some clunky conventions from the Absolute Annihilation era stil...

Epic thread necro incoming! As I've been lurking, searching and reading around here for quite some days now, I might as well say something... After years of absence from Spring I now have decided to pick up where I left all those years ago. I've made an (ambitious :regret: ) plan o...

Re: Maximum Annihilation?
Updating the mod itself should take a week I guess. The new units also should require quite some time. When getting frustrated while texturing I might throw some "dummy textures" at them and release earlier...

Questions about updating an old game & engine features
Hi! So when having a look at Spring's latest changes & features I came up with a couple of questions in regards of how to make a game compatible with the latest engine version and how to make the most out of the newly available features... 1.) .fbi vs .lua I guess it would be a good idea to depr...
