I have to say that I have the feeling spring plays a little bit slower than OTA. Even with ota units, i feel it takes ages to get to the action. Also the 0.1 and +100 options are kinda pointless.

Well we keep going back to the same discussion over and over again. So now we only have to send a peeper in the direction we 'THINK' the guardian or bb comes from. You don't even have to look at it or search for it, even if it's hidden behind a gasbag or a tree or anything. It just gets marked autom...

I'm still dreaming of war on a planet where there is an existing civilization but Core and ARM don't bother with them and just destroy whatever comes in between the two races. Would be nice to have your units fight in a sim city like city :)

The info is in the gp3 file included in TA or XTA file. Maybe someone can extract it and put it on a site or in a file.

Hmm I think AA has too many units. OTA was already pretty crowded and had a unit for about everything.

I have 2400+ with 1.5 GB ram and 6600GT. Doesn't help much. I still think it's cpu limited with too many units. Just like ota.

I used CTRL P for this and works fine. However you should only include weapons and aircraft and not builders. Also with CTRL W they didn't assign it correctly. Better to disable your commander and buildings, which is kinda pointless.

Lol Mother actually did the map. However not at true resolution and still limited by the mapconv program :)

And yes the map format does need a change. But we'll have to wait for that.

To get a similar effect, cheat and queue up 500 hawks and set speed to + 5 or something. After about 200 hawks you can see the game slow down and hickups appear ever more when you get to about 300 or 400. This is in a single player game.

Why not download the bluemarble earth from Nasa. It's 48kx24k pixels. I believe they also have a height map and make that into a map. Would rock to play the real earth :)

I think the left side is large enough to have an efficient interface that shows all options(maybe only not in AA) and otherwise the 1-6 is the best option imo. Just get used to selecting units with Alt + the number

Man, this really IS a stupid question. Obviously you're not a programmer yourself. Blah. Besides, it's a beta.

So what port do clients then use to connect to the servers. They must use some port. Problem is that you can't forward the same port to 2 pc's. I really hate that about NAT. DXport can be used in older games to assign port 3001 to pc 1 and 3002 to pc2. But no clue if it works with spring.

In OTA they were already. O for order B for build. Then you could use , and . to move through the pages. Also standard the keys 1-6 wen't through the pages, but most users prefered to have the +switchalt option on so that pressing the appropriate button selected the squad. But initially this was don...

Didn't it depend on the unit? Like a cloaked com was really invisible also on radar?

Cloaking in Spring makes a unit really invisible to even your self. I think it wouldn't be very unlikely you'll build some fusions and never found em again.

It's a shame spring doesn't allow for textures on vertical slopes. Or at least doesn't correct for them.
