Re: Buildings and maxslope
Yes forb, I know about that tag. Fine, I didn't want to have to go into extreme detail but it seems necessary. Situation A: I have a building that needs the ground to be no more than 30 slopey, but I want it to be built anywhere up to 90 slope. I can either set maxslope to 30 without flattening, or ...

Re: Buildings and maxslope
Which, honestly, is kind of stupid. They won't flatten the land for one building but they will for another? And if it's already 'flat enough' they'll still make it perfectly flat, because there is no way to indicate not to.

People misposting is solved by clear forum names and people reporting threads in the wrong place, not by locking the forum to certain people.

Re: Dev meeting minutes 2010-06-27
There is no reason to disable the calls. Low-rendering widgets don't impact performance. Just tell people to turn off the fancy worldspace widgets. I would try first to make it better use CPU cache. How? Spring is run on many different systems. What of it? Syncing spring only runs on x86/x64, so cac...

Specifically, the doc folder is copied into every spring install.

Re: Dev meeting minutes 2010-06-27
Which brings up having a slave thread for some of the calculations. Pathfinding and LOS are high-CPU and relatively easy to pull out as far as I know. How much of sim is spent on them? Is anything else?

Re: Dev meeting minutes 2010-05-30
Prevents someone from stealing a players slot if they're slow to connect if they're lagging or something. When it's done right, the player will never notice the difference. But why would you force the code to exist on the player? And what do you mean, never notice? Spring won't exactly make you thi...

Re: Wifi conundrum
Have you tried channels 3-4 and 8-9? It really can make a difference to have weak interference even if it's from more networks. Can you convince your hardware to use channel 14? n will probably have better reception than b.

Re: Dev meeting minutes 2010-06-27
With the number of callins that get direct feedback, I don't think moving them to another thread is even remotely workable. It's simply impossible to take current synced code and run it in parallel. Gadgets have to be able to examine the game state in a completely reproducible way. What you can do i...

Re: Unbind crosshair from mousescrollbutton
An option to write the config or not seems inherently buggy. An option to make a config change temporary would work better, and wouldn't take much code to support.

Re: Unbind crosshair from mousescrollbutton
More poking around on XP, I'm getting scrolling in an edit control but nowhere else, certainly not a standard means of navigating. But that's what the wheel is for.
And why would you assume that, zwzsg?

I tried some apps earlier today in XP, but I can't recall which ones.

Re: Unbind crosshair from mousescrollbutton
Notepad, wordpad, nope, and I don't have any mouse drivers you were blaming in irc. I already said it worked in web browsers (but differently in each, clearly not a system feature). Springlobby also has its own scrollydoo.
Can you give me a screenshot of what your scroll cursor looks like?

I really don't follow these app-based claims, click does nothing for me in anything that isn't a browser, and drag works in even less.
