good question - i was letting the installer update the bots.
just tried the build at that link and that also crashes though (although it had a different checksum) :/
if someone could please try KAIK with CA so i know it's not just a config problem here please?

ok but it worked in 76b1 and SVN until recently.. is there a newer compile of KAIK please? this was the only bot that could play properly for us..

hi, this has been happening for a week or so (of SVN and CA builds) and no one seems to have noticed it? start any game of CA with a KAIK bot and Spring crashes right after the bot loads. "there is no disk in the drive. please insert a disk into drive D" btw.. what the heck is with that er...

the 76b1 release doesnt work properly at all on our lan, so i can't really say. i'll see if i can get some people to test 1944 021 again tonight.. if you havent got other reports i'd just ignore me and carry on please, if there is a problem with LUA in 1944 you probably won't make it any worse :p

er, everyone else is seeing crashes too right? i'd feel really bad if you delayed the release because one person (me) was having crashes (which could be due to something else in the config)! I will have to try 1944 again with the latest SVN spring because XTA seems to be quite stable now..

I will finish 0.5 and maby 0.6 for spring. but i plan to switch to Supcom after i learn the LUA-stuff. well that's put me off trying this.. why not stay with the free engine? :) players don't have to buy supcom. if you need more engine features i expect you'll fin...

ok, right. the only way (?) i can get CA to work, is to run 076b1 server on a slow pc, and the client on a much faster one. then the client has started first and everything seems ok (after tons of GameID msgs, is this normal?) Client connected on slot 1 Player slow_pc_server joined as 0 Player fast_...

did some more testing. if i use a different PC as the slower client, it still doesn't start properly. so it's not a specific problem with one very slow PC. but, if i use two slower (not really slow, both 2Ghz ish with fast drives) PCs as server and client, then Spring still doesn't start CA properly...

yer i have AVG on both PCs, it's not that. there is something wrong with that PC though that i've never figured out. the HDD benchmarks over 84MB/s - (which is a faster drive than in the server, which loads Spring really quick) yet it thrashes (pages) like crazy in real apps ... it's a mystery. anyw...

thanks for all your attention guys. what's really frustrating is seeing the client sit there on finalizing, knowing it's going to time out, and wondering - what is it doing in there?! maybe, you could timestamp the logs and add some more details please because my other question is why is it so slow ...

sorry guys, but the original problem, network games not starting, is still here. svn 5195. although now there's a workaround (start it twice). first time playing a mod, slower PC times out when loading, then server crashes. 2nd time, it works ok (because the game loads faster the 2nd time?) ? please...
