Re: Enable polls in general discussion?
to my memory, polls were removed from general discussion because random people would start polls to get their point trough ( most of the time badly biased or ill-conceived), and then demand for action to be taken upon them ( which wouldn't work even for sanely placed since they often subjected argum...

Re: Creating a really huge map
running a 32 bit app in a 64 bit os means the app can only still allocate max 4 GB, also, on windows, unless a special flag is passed , the real limit is 2GB, so your 8 GB ram won't be put into use. therefor mapconv, gimp, spring, and any other 32-bit compiled apps can only allocate 2 GB on windows,...

I'm going on vacation to Sardinia Saturday and I still have to do everything. Things like -where- exactly am I going to sleep? My sister had decided I needed a vacation so she booked a plane and a tent somewhere on that island. santa teresa di gallura or generally around costa smeralda, avoid...

there IS a relayhost there, but it's currently unusable due to a spring-dedicated bug

Re: Decline in the number of players
You have to count the players in #main, since in local the autohosts and bots are counted too. There are only 286 players online there. there are tons of bots in #main too a lot of players (I for one) don't join #main, so it's not a good number and as jazcash said, they are roughly 70 or so and you...

The Elo system was invented as an improved chess rating system, but today it is also used in many other games. It is also used as a rating system for multiplayer competition in a number of computer games,[1] and has been adapted to team sports including association football, American college footba...

Re: Drawing Starting Positions with SpringLobby?
As the title says, I'm a bit exasperated because it seems like no matter what combination of buttons I press, I can't draw the "starting boxes" on the map in the SpringLobby client. In addition, if I select the "choose before game" option, I also can't move the "icon" ...

Re: Something is wrong with the colour in the chat
it's debug info accidentally leaking to the chat
it's for everyone
the timestamp breaks playername parsing, so without knowing playername widgets cannot colorize messages properly
i already submitted a patch to fix it & will be solved in next release

Re: Static libs - can they be removed?
Hi As far as I could see, springs source tarball includes a copy of lua, md5 and 7zip (have I missed anything? Keep in mind that I've yet to check if springs actually links against these libraries). I'd have to check myself, at the moment I'm writing this post on top of my mind Before I start diving...

Re: connection rejected: user name not authorized to connect
ah sorry, that one, I was confused on the name, it was WhiteListAdditionalPlayers that I added and should be removed and forced to be true I checked the code again to be sure, and now I can say that allowAdditionalPlayers should remain off, or anyone would be able to connect spoofing any nick, as we...

Re: connection rejected: user name not authorized to connect
what does it mean? why does it happen? it showed when trying to spectate an ongoing chicken defense game. (in a messagebox) Host does not support mid join. He needs to set AllowAdditionalPlayers=1 in springconfig.cfg / .springrc this should the default value and it should be added to springsettings...

Re: connection rejected: user name not authorized to connect
by default, spring rejects any username that wasn't present in script.txt midgame joins, dynamically adds names to that list since the host could not add names to that list, because eg. the game is overcrowded or the user is banned, the text "username not authorized" is perfectly meaningfu...

zwzsg, ok that most of these kind of threads have the same awful pattern, but that doesn't makes the "converted mid-thread" troll more fun the more you repeat it.
