One thing that bothered me about TA Spring's interface when I first started playing was the inverted mouse wheel behavior, which isn't customizable. Every other 3D program I've ever used has the opposite behavior for zooming in/out using the mouse wheel. Unfortunately, now I've gotten used to the TA...

Unfortunately, I've downloaded it twice now (from different mirrors). No luck.

This it the MD5 sum for the file I have:

Can anyone confirm that?

I downloaded the map, but I'm having problems running it. The map does not appear in the TA Spring map list. I've tried hitting the reload button, but it does not help. Also, I renamed the file to .7z and tried to open the archive with 7-Zip, but 7-Zip did not recognize it as a valid .7z archive. I ...

The video is fine, but it highlights a Greenfields issue that I've never been able to fully understand... If everybody always reclaims their commander early on in Greenfields, then why play the map at all? The novelty of having a severe metal shortage is completely bypassed by everyone involved. You...

The erosion tool has been uploaded to FileUniverse. Note that it may require tweaking the input parameters to get good results! I recommend that everyone read the included ErodeReadme.txt Also, the source code is included. It's a Visual Studio 7 project, but it should be relatively easy to compile w...

It's a command-line tool. Assuming I get around to releasing it, this is probably how it would work: erode -in heightmap.bmp -out eroded_heightmap.bmp -mask erosion_mask.bmp -iter 50 -in Sets name of input bitmap -out Sets name of output bitmap -mask Sets name of "mask" bitmap. The mask is...

Sure, but I'll need to clean it up a bit first. It's not foolproof enough for public consumption. In other words, it crashes if you don't use it exactly right :)

Care to share some details about your C erosion program? It's not anything fancy; I think L3DT has something similar. It uses brute-force to simulate several thousand "rain drops" which flow downhill, picking up dirt on the way and depositing it at the bottom. I can post some before-and-a...

Thanks for the help. The problem is fixed now; yes, it needed to be in the feature map instead of the metal map. I was confused by the help text which is displayed by mapconv.exe. It mentions geovents in the metal map section for some reason. But moving it to the feature map fixed it. Now I just nee...

My first map, and a question

Greetings all, I'm working on my first TA Spring map, and I have a question. I'm having trouble getting geo vents to work correctly. I'm positive that I've got a single pixel of green (255) in the metal map, but I see absolutely nothing in the game (no smoke), and it won't let me build a geo on that...

Try running the game in windowed mode instead of fullscreen. I had a similar problem when I first installed Spring; the screen would go black, nothing would happen, and I couldn't alt-tab out of it. I tried running in windowed mode instead. It turns out that my firewall was asking me if Spring shoul...

Do any of the developers have any idea what could be causing this? It's really obnoxious... I'd estimate that 30% of my recent games have been ruined by this "random exit" bug. And even in the games where I my own client doens't randomly exit, it's almost inevitable that it'll happen to on...

Caydr removed the anti-Arm-only crap Cavedog put in there.
Except the Arm-only stuff actually makes sense in the context of the original TA story :) Arm units are piloted by biological entities, whereas Core units are not, so theoretically the Core *ought* to be immune to neutron bombs.

Just wanted to pipe up and mention that I have had the same problem, and I've talked to others who have also experienced it. On Saturday, Spring exited on three different occasions (over the course of about 1.5 hours of total play time). No error message was given. In one instance, it exited while v...
