Try a 2009 Engine version. I dont think the AI worked very well so it will be kind of boring unless you find people to play with.

could you have it so the factions have specific color but the team color controls the secondary color; so the variation that you have in those sets of 3 would be controlled via the players choice while the other 90% of the color is faction based?

keep it simple. if it works well you could play with levels but I'd suggest trying just 1.

yeah using refueling in the past I've had mixed results. maybe its different now, but I imagine movectrl is the way to do. although I've also had issues with aircraft and movectrl in the past (this was years ago). maybe not mech tech-wise, but support wise? Also don't many clans have exclusive vehicles and what not that would not be shared by other clans? Obviously this isn't so great when making an RTS whre certain roles are missing because you are limiting yourself to cannon technical manuals on clan tech, ...

The highlands/ plateaus look kind of desolate and boring. Would like to see maybe boulders or some thing to spice up those areas, maybe some kind of obstacles to send skirmishers around. Map looks pretty good though other than that.
