Re: Please add tapatalk support for this forum

This has become relevant to my interests so I tried to apply the patch. It made my git kinda sad with whitespace crap though so I got the zip you attached earlier and added that again. And for good measure added the js in all themes.

Re: Lobby :: Dev meeting minutes 2012.03.18

Alright, so I've been assessing everything you said wrt protocol description wrong then, as far back as that awful meeting we had about custom properties. Which 13 months later still aren't available btw. We're still missing a comment when/if you can/will implement the forcejoin related commands. Re...

Re: Statically linked Spring

Not unitsync itself needs loving, but it needs a build env where every lib in its closure of dependencies is compiled with a certain flag. That may or may not already be the case for any given lib, but it certainly not for a some that jk could confirm.

Re: Statically linked Spring

We're not quite there yet by my latest knowledge of his progress. Unitsync with no runtime dependencies is still a huge pita and would require still more effort to prepare a fitting build setup. Once/if that is done the only thing I see missing is repeatability. As in building such a mostly-static p...

Re: Lobby :: Dev meeting minutes 2012.03.18

There is only one thing I am not prepared to compromise on and that is implementing changes/features that aren't reflected in the ProtocolDescription. It should be obvious to everyone that this has gotten us into 2 not-so-nice-situations inside of 2 months now. I am very reluctant to have any two pe...

Re: Lobby :: Dev meeting minutes 2012.03.18

I quite simply refuse to be dealt with like this. I asked for halcyon to be removed from discussion and got no support. Instead of ignoring him you ask us to a set a precedence that anyone you want needs to be removed immediately or you'll quit. I spend roughly 1000$ on this server each year + main...

Re: Lobby :: Dev meeting minutes 2012.03.18

If you interpreted my line of arguing before you stormed off as "don't want" I wasn't clear enough. I do want, but for everyone and in a way that doesn't overwhelm nubs. That you dangle the "my box, my rules" argument over all of us now is quite frankly just bullshit. Hoijui and ...

Re: How to make ZK work on your Linux setup

To be less invasive it would also be a good idea to install into a prefix outside of $PATH like /opt/zerok
Otherwise the manual install in /usr/local will globally and "forever" override spring's debian package install.

Re: Lobby :: Dev meeting minutes 2012.03.18

I don't think voting rights distribution is an actual problem. If you read the minutes cheesecan and zydox both would support a system that gives them less or no influence. I think giving the smaller projects a combined vote instead of the big ones vetoes would be fair and not effectively stall the ...

Re: Enormous resource usage 87.0

Spring has been running multiple threads for a long while. What is commonly known as "mt" is a misnomer. It adds threaded rendering, not multi threading itself.

Re: Autohost protocol

I agree with Licho here. Starting point should be a minimal set of most commonly used commands.
The question of whether autohosts authors would actually commit to this protocol is also somewhat open.

Re: proposal for rules of deprecation of Lua API stuff

Full static linking is impossible, because one needs to use at least the system's ogl lib. Jk made some recent headway in getting an "as static as possible" build, he can say more to the matter.

Yes gajop, but there currently is nothing any lobby could download on a given distro extract it somewhere so it would just work.

Problem is this zip det is thinking of is currently akin to a flying unicorn.
On a sidenote, could you explain how package management is a mess as opposed to everything installing anywhere?

There's no package manager I know that allows that.

Re: proposal for rules of deprecation of Lua API stuff

I know it's not an issue for ZKL, but multi-version installs are simply not feasible on linux atm and I do not want to spend time on features that don't benefit everybody.

Re: Lobbydev meeting minutes 2012-03-11

I see nothing wrong with changing a proposal that doesn't have a documentation draft yet. Feel free to bring it up again next sunday.
Could do with less pictures and name calling and with more arguments that might actually sway people though, but that's ofc just my opinion.

Re: Lobbydev meeting minutes 2012-03-11

Whether one hides the new meaning of SAY via a toggle or one adds separate commands is no different in informational complexity. A given implementation may make one way easier over the other ofc. For me adding new commands instead of forking logic given a command parameter is simpler both in libspri...
