Re: berta range-extender
Didn't we go from "repulser" true to false to true again in the course of AA/BA development? IIRC, people didn't like the change when the non "repulser" shield was first implemented in the engine.

Re: Meta Game Engine
Should Spring have a Meta-Game 3D-Engine associated with it, which allows smoth translation from 3D in Webbrowser (Shogun-like maps, Galaxymaps, whatever) to the Engine? http://springrts.com/phpbb/download/file.php?mode=view&id=8975&sid=186854cdcc901f15547f0ed94aee85f0 Also , yes i consider...

Re: BA 8.06 Released!
Any insight into the reasoning behind the sea unit/gameplay changes? They seem to be pretty random.
EDIT: Actually, most of the gameplay changes seem somewhat random. In terms of the big picture, what's the direction being taken?

Re: Remove FPS mode, open direct control interface to lua
Your biggest downfall will be latency. Either engine FPS, or gadgetized solution will both suffer from massive lag, and would be best used in single player. It's too laggy for "FPS" mode, but fpsview is shit to begin with, it is not useful. As is, directcontrol is plenty useful when used ...

Re: Remove FPS mode, open direct control interface to lua
I used to love FPS view. Then they made it no longer work properly. IIRC there should be a tag that disables it on a per unit basis. Unless that was removed... either way. I am all in favor of luafication of it. IMO it has no place in the engine, are you volunteering to do the lua gadget? I've had ...

Remove FPS mode, open direct control interface to lua
Let's face it, FPS mode is pretty gimmicky. The ability to micro a single unit in a very precise manner, however, is not and could be exploited to create interesting (maybe novel) game mechanics in an RTS. I propose removing the guts of hard-coded FPS mode in favor of allowing it to be implemented m...
