Re: SpringRTS Organizational specification
Yes, please give me feedback in a PM. As for Springs leadership. There is a group of people that can make certain global-level decisions. I manage the DNS (and pay for) the Spring domain names. That is springrts.com springrts.org and springrts.net Only springrts.com is in active use. The current DNS...

Re: SpringRTS Organizational specification
@gajop you read my proposal but you haven't commented on it other then the suggestion to share it publicly on the forum. Which I may do. But is there a specific reason why you decided not to comment on my proposal? As for having a leader.. I don't know if it would be beneficial for Spring. I current...

Re: [Funded] Spring.LoadMap
My main concern is fleshing out the bounty donation system. Making sure that this is a good example on how to do this more in the future. Everything else is optional fun for me. But as for the implementation these are the optional things I'm interested in: - Don't show the desktop My friends expect ...

Re: Quick question for the engine devs.
$500 I'm willing to match 50 cent for each dollar donated by others. Granted that the total pledges made reach the full 500 dollar. So effectively I'm pledging 166.67 dollar if others pledge for the other 333.33 dollar. Ok, I'll bite, I will pledge 250$. Who else wants to see this feature? 500 − 41...

Licho wrote the "jar" code for that purpose. http://zero-k.info/ContributionsKloot wrote:Yeah, so I gathered. I see no reason why a separate forum section with strictly managed threads (for bitcoin donation pools or w/e) could not be used for that.

Re: Quick question for the engine devs.
Another Spring dev using Bitcoin.. I've send 4690 bits to Kloot, more then a whole Euro. :-) I got these particular bitcoin bits from the Armoury project for trying out their client at the Bitcoin conference back in May. Now I do want something in return, can you PM an e-mail address where I can mai...

@FireStorm_
Cool, in an earlier discussion there was an idea to add a "Thesis?" page to the Spring site. I still think that would be a good idea, if that's added then maybe put that url on the poster?

Re: Spring developer crisis
Having a me/you/us/them would derail this topic. Don't do this here now. I know you're frustrated but focus on solutions. Having detailed technical designs written down with a requirement to get some of your peers to comment on it (vet it) before funding can be secured would help with getting better...

Re: Spring developer crisis
Another point is that Spring as it stands today is more or less "done". There’s not much low hanging fruit to take on that will have a big impact on the project. Violently disagree. There is stuff that could be added. And i think the bugfixxing goes easier if you have some share in the ho...

Re: Spring developer crisis
I think we need a little more money. Having a developer do 2-3 months of full time work a year on Spring would help things along. Another point is that Spring as it stands today is more or less "done". There’s not much low hanging fruit to take on that will have a big impact on the project...

Re: Crowd fund open source software.
I wonder if we would start hurting feelings if we tried to figure out which of our contributors are "real" developers (probably just allow all committers or some such). That's a can of worms I have been thinking about too. A possible solution for this would be something like a 'web of tru...

Re: Crowd fund open source software.
The only fees charged by Catincan are 10% of the total feature funding amount after the full funding amount has been reached. Donating to people (Licho) directly would remove this overhead. And he is working on a project to do more with the donation system. I support the attempts to increase fundin...
