Re: Anyone running Spring on laptop?
running really well on my alienware m15x (i7 1.6ghz -> 2.8ghz), 460m, 8gb ram. by extension it should work great on their newer m14x which is supposed to be a gaming laptop with decent battery life :) I really like the metal chassis and the cooling system is better than all other gaming laptops I've...

Re: The aGorm can't code well Thread
I have a function and I want it to call another function. are you getting a specific error? have you tried using a forward declaration? -- forward declaration local AimWeapon1Left, AimWeapon1Right function script.AimWeapon1( heading, pitch ) --make sure the aiming animation is only run once Signal(...

Re: Widget to display team eco
how does it place compared to your other widgets? profile it against some widgets like UnitShapes, RedUI, Tetris, Advanced Player List and see if it's much more or less than them.Jools wrote:Is the CPU performance of this widget a rpbleem?

Re: Widget to display team eco
this is a cool idea + improvement on existing team stats. I think it looks a bit big+randomly textual, might be hard to read if you have many teams
any thoughts on designs for shorter display that still adequately shows the same information?

Re: Synchronous RTS Engines and a Tale of Desyncs
going forward from today (and even the last few years), dual-core machines are going to represent the minimum system requirement for gaming. only the very lowest-end + cheapest new machines have single cores, and save for very badly-made custom machines, anything with a good video card will have at ...

Re: rightclick = move instead of reclaim
you could use a heuristic to see if there are any enemy units visible and relatively near the commander (can even test movement vectors to see if they're approaching) to enable/disable the option

it also could be the battle is full. if it has a spectator limit it probably denies people from joining after it hits said limit.

Re: Lobby protocol - move player from battle to battle
metabattle sounds doable: give bots the ability to open a metabattle i.e. "2v2 quickmatch". the server could even allow a single bot to open more than one of these (potentially simplifying infrastructure) once a player joins a metabattle, the metabattle host is able to move them into any b...

Re: Lobby protocol - move player from battle to battle
a "make this permanent" checkbox on the "you've been invited to join a battle" prompt wouldn't exactly be an obscure setting for nubs
if you want to appeal to nubs, nothing wrong with making them use ZK as well...
also, invite wasn't the only alternative I gave

imo zero everyday protocol features should require admin privileges, and nothing but keeping order should require mod privileges. for the command itself, implementation can be done with an assumed voluntary system via an INVITE command and lobby implementation like "[ ] always accept battle inv...

Re: account erased ?
the accounts database dump was possibly corrupted after taking over an hour to dump (instead of two seconds) during that massive server load this weekend... I can restore your account from backup if you want
there's a chance it skipped you if you renamed during the dump
