Re: Random WIP 2015+

@FLOZi: that's one good looking weapon-effect, too bad we wont be able to spam it with all that ppc-heat. ---- i had a design in mind when i started. Thought it was something relatively fresh. Then i realized i did nearly the same thing before. So its a WIP that wont go anywhere. Plus I can´t look a...

Re: Eternal Struggle 0.53

And the first Dreadnought texture is (nearly) finished. As always, the big red areas will later be the team-color areas.

Re: WC in SC2

there's something depressing about these conversions. After many months (or years) of hard work, they end up with something that looks and plays EXACTLY like the old game they already have. what's the point? one thing that could improve is the latency. i don´t know why, but playing sc2 on the Bnet ...

is the graphic-card thing still such a big difference between ati and nvidea? I use a ati mobile chip and it seems ok with Spring.

Re: go play grey goo you slackers!

you can always get it when it goes on sale later. The story is pretty good though and I am enjoying it. Will probably do that, excactly because of the singleplayer campaign. I have heard a lot of positiv opinions about that. I is just not enough for me to get it for the full price (steam wants 46€ ...

Re: go play grey goo you slackers!

it reminds me a lot of earth 2160, just with one faction less and no selfmade units. Not that its not interesting but atm i just don´t feel like paying about 30€ for it. Especially since Homeworld remastered costs nearly the same. Out of curiosity, is the Goo just an advancement of concepts like the...

Re: Red Comet Upgrade

why would the bots keep standing on the surface if there is such low gravity low gravity doesn't mean you fly off the moment you step. the celestial body represented by red comet could be large enough to have it's own gravity. the map still has the default gravity settings I am willing to bet. that...

Re: What happen to the Pure dev?[serious]

well, his P.U.R.E forum is quite dead (that on his wolf games page), and I never heard anything new after his first post regarding his new project ( was some space game in unity i think ) i was quite sad when he left, since his tutorial for making a 3d model and getting it into spring was the one i ...

Re: Would bipedal mechs actually be useful?

They have allready trouble with going up slight elevations, as that means additional energy, they have to reconsume. And a mech is not 5 tons. A mech is in the thirty ton range like a tank. is it? http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/BattleMech ... 20-100t ... yeah the feet would be a bit bigger... but als...

Re: Would bipedal mechs actually be useful?

The additional problem is, that with so much weight on two legs, allmost everything not solid concrete- becomes a kind of swamp.. Mechwarriors in citys, would be struggling most of the time to get there sunken in legs out of cannalisation and rooftops. doubt that, its just a question of feet-size: ...

Re: Would bipedal mechs actually be useful?

if there would be a mech which can carry stronger weaponry and armor while still being as maneuverable as humans in that kind of rough terrain, it would be quite a advantage. Yes, but does such machine nessecarily have to be a bipedal mech? sure not necessarily. its just that its a design that is k...

Re: Total Annihilation 2 is alive

Personally, instead of merely shortening the beginning of the game, I'd like to jump straight to the middle, with an already built, fairly large, functional base. besides the base point, games like that already exist, world in conflict f.e., and its not improving it much for newbies. if i recall ri...

Re: Would bipedal mechs actually be useful?

they would be useful were humans are useful on todays battlefields. I served in a mountaineer military unit and we had practically no tank-ish units besides a small one that could be transported via helicopter. if there would be a mech which can carry stronger weaponry and armor while still being as...
