TA was NOT realistic. Giant subsonic orange plasma balls that float majestically through the air is the farthest thing from realistic military weaponry I can think of. I have no problem with realism, nor realistic graphics, however, gameplay should come first. The entire debate about realism is dum...

Well, this is only my opinion, and applies to TA-based games. I enjoy immersive games too, sure, but TA isn't one. Think of chess, it somewhat represents two medieval armies. It is much simplified but still elaborate. It isn't meant to be immersive. I think TA is somewhere between the 'real' world a...

DZHIBRISH, I wasn't being sarcastic. If you want ultra-immersive 'realistic' gaming experience, try some new FPS or something. :P TA is more about the gameplay and strategy. 'Realistic' effects and models can often make the overall look messy (supcom :|) and therefor I prefer 'simple' and stylish on...

Played a few games with Ray yesterday, and the assault shell seemed really overpowered - the way it manouvers, you can micro it to destroy pretty much anything. I'd suggest you make the autoheal to kick in only when it's stationary. That way you can't dodge forever and a few rocket turrets would mak...

Are they for real? I mean.. video game consoles, wth? Video game consoles are a highly specialized product, produced in relatively small quantities. What about TVs? Each console needs a TV to show the fucking picture, and there are *a lot* more TVs than consoles. I'd even say a TV is more str...

You could try what I used a few times. 1) Spectate until you find someone succesfully doing a new strat. 2) Try do it yourself. 3) Watch the replay you just played, and try figure why you failed. 4) Repeat 2 and 3 until you succeed. The hard part is 1), you need to figure exactly what he was trying ...

I'm against preceding the site with a spashscreen. Spring isn't really a game expressly, ultimately we're an engine project and a community, I don't want to navigate useless extra clicks before the site loads in full. Erhm, who are we doing that new site for? I think we already have reached most pe...

Every second there is an uncapped metalspot, you are wasting potential. Due to the exponential nature of spring economy, the few seconds (or even minutes) will cost you thousands of potential metal later. You could have spent the metal to produce more metal faster or to cripple your enemy, thus losi...

I tried smurfing the other day (yeah, im evil) and couldn't even get into a game. I was kicked without any explanation from several games, and when I asked the host why, he'd just briefly reply '1 stripe' if he answered at all. After a while a newbie asked me to duel with him. I tried to explain him...

You lot have to remember: they don't have good tutorials, they don't have a decent single player campaign to practice on. Well, that could be fixed. A more advanced tutorial, dealing with game philosophy and psychology, advanced strategy elements and such. Could be helpful to many avarage players, ...

I agree with Saktoth. I have seen too many newbies who take a one screen area around their starting position and make pretty lines of defense towers - and far too few people who have no clue what they are doing, but still push forwards and try to kill the enemy. This is a somewhat philosophical issu...
