Re: maps and mods folder moved?
If only we could specify where we want 'em and not use some hardcoded path.

Re: Spring 0.80.4 Released
Also, i didn't crash once in 0,80,2 but in 0,80,4 i crashed (mass crash) in first game. Hope this isn't indicative of the new versions stability. Infolog attached. [ 22296] Spring 0.80.4.0 (0.80.4-0-ga0534a8{@}-cmake-mingw32) has crashed. [ 22296] Exception: Access violation (0xc0000005) [ 22296] Ex...

I reported this also, but was told it never worked this way. we must be two having wrong memories..FLOZi wrote:It doesn't put mods and maps where I keep my mods and maps.Auswaschbar wrote:What is broken with it?
Where it used to put mods and maps quite nicely and neatly.
In my sodding Spring directory.

Re: Mod Developers should not be Lobby moderators. Ever.
I haven't yet encountered mod rights abuse, which is a merit by the moderating team. Indicates that the moderators are capable of acting like they should. Even if the mentioned Licho is a lobby moderator he hasn't even muted anyone for stating their opinion about CA, even if the opinion was IT SUX. ...

Re: Spring & related apps got a "freeze" bug in 0,80,2
Good to hear it is solved. When you have that many apps misbehaving (apps with very little in common!) it is reasonable to suspect there is something wrong with your system rather than the apps So i was incorrect to assume all the described errors were when apps used unitsync? I would suspect the e...

Re: Spring & related apps got a "freeze" bug in 0,80,2
I have been struggling with this problem since the update, and now, magically while i was playing around with resource monitor checking disk io and launching and closing tasclient, spring and springsettings several times, it magically started working like before! I thought it must be something cache...

Spring & related apps got a "freeze" bug in 0,80,2
I already posted about this in the news section, but that is totally wrong forum, so i will post this here, as a complete info set instead of random posts. So the problem started when i installed 0,80,2 Spring. I immediately noticed that launching the springsettings after setup did not happen, even ...

Re: Spring 0.80.2 (MAKE IT HAPPEN) released
Was the 0.80.2 only installer link fixed in the meantime? I used the link on the download page on two different PCs and when starting the lobby it told me I wouldn't have the correct executables (although when starting Spring via those it definitely was a 0.80.2 release). After downloading and inst...

Re: Spring 0.80.2 (MAKE IT HAPPEN) released
Was archivemover always hardcoded? Weird since it moved the maps and mods to my then non-default spring install dir users/username/home/spring And about the spring launch delay, contrary to my last post, it actually takes about 8 seconds from when i click spring.exe / a multiplayer game is launched ...

Re: Spring 0.80.2 (MAKE IT HAPPEN) released
Besides the irrational random folder creation and "improved" hardcoded archivemover behavior, there seems to be still one annoying "feature" since last spring update. What i am talking about is a delay between giving the launch command to spring.exe to where it actually begins to...

Re: USA preparing for something horrific?
Sheesh, i knew having a decent discussion on this forum about this would be impossible. i did not say usa is preparing for world domination, i asked for your opinion about stuff. To me some things' going on over there seem way off, not to start with the injection of trillions of dollars into the mon...

Re: 2 hours to install GTAIV
I tend to allways illegally download the game and test it out, and if it is worth my money i will buy it. Kinda like the demos that were offered back in the good old days. The described problems in this thread were what kept me from buying GTA IV, the actual gameplay was kinda ok compared to other c...

USA preparing for something horrific?
I found this interesting video, and investigated a bit further, and it seems that USA is starting hundreds of prison camps around the states and stacking up millions of COFFINS around the states. What are these for ? I have heard rumors about canada usa and mexico forming a new north american union ...

Re: Spring 0.80.2 (MAKE IT HAPPEN) released
Spring does not use the registry, neither does springlobby. Spring uses your documents dir for reading content. If its installation dir is not writable, it also uses it for writing stuff. Same goes for springlobby. Archivemover moves stuff to your documents folder. Also, what do you think is the po...

Re: Spring 0.80.2 (MAKE IT HAPPEN) released
One simple request: Make spring use ONLY a data dir and an user working directory. Currently it puts things all over the filesystem and registry which is really annoying clutter and a mess. The data directory (where spring, lobbies, springsettings and springdownloader is installed) should be read only...

Re: Stereoscopic Three Dee
Is this style effectively halving the vertical resolution? If not, then i haven't really understood how it works. How does this passive 3d technology compare to a 120Hz monitor combined with active 3d glasses? I'd really like to try 3d gaming, it will revolutionize the gaming as much as 3d gfx cards...
