Re: What graphics card do you use for Spring RTS? Looking to buy one.
I'm still on a 1060 3Gb (with 8700k), which seemed more than enough for Spring when I last played a year or two ago.

Re: BA12 runs on 105 (with proof)
It does seem that BAs community moved on to 105. Well done to Ares & those involved, I've played no part in it but I doubt it was easy - ofc the barriers are/were mostly social rather than technical. Afaics there's sadly still no attributable commit logs, but only Ares has ever claimed to be wri...

Re: Starting with Chili
The Chili wiki was written by me in 2015 & looks like very little was changed since, except for the section on skinning which was (according to the logs) added by Behe quite recently.
It matched gajops chili in 2015 - that's the most I know!

TLS will be required for battle hosting
Uberserver will soon require that users/bots hosting battles are connected to the lobbyserver via TLS. Given the way our infra is set up, I think its fair to say that GDPR doesn't actually require this but it does heavily hint that it is preferable. This is currently planned to take effect in ~2 mon...

Re: Keep Spring engine usable by all
I'm not sure this thread was ever on topic, but a year old screenshot certainly isn't, and this isn't a place for discussing moderation of external servers.

Re: Keep Spring engine usable by all
Springs GPL license basically prevents relicensing of existing code. It would need the permission of *all* previous authors, which is Springs case is near impossible, I doubt a single one would agree and contact details for some of them are long lost.

Yes, but deliberately, SL moved some months ago to https://springlobby.springrts.com/
Also please buy kettles, contributes to server costs

Re: [misc] springfiles.com maintenance
Could the new SF frontend display the authors/uploaders of content please? And have a page to see all content associated to a given author? For some content the licenses want that the author is made clear - and our GDPR compliance requires that we can associate hosted content to its uploaders/author...

Re: bitcoin in 2021
Discussion of bitcoin has never been disallowed per se. As you know, your threads e.g. https://springrts.com/phpbb/viewtopic.php?p=583078#p583078 got locked because e.g. is uncomfortably close to being political and "has the only purpose to advertise another website or product". both of wh...

Re: Wiki Update
I'm not sure I contribute enough to hold an opinion anymore but - imo keep stuff from 103, remove everything earlier, that's far enough into the past already.Should the wiki keep giving information about how things were done 5-10 years ago

Open Source is about giving. ... Under conditions. If you touch the GPL, and you dont name a license, you are GPL. Fwiw I (wrote most of and) licensed my final version of these death messages here as WTFPL: https://github.com/Balanced-Annihilation-Reloaded/BAR.sdd/blob/master/luarules/configs/death...

Re: Spring 105.0 released: maintenance release
It's good to see that most of the 104.0.1+xyz host have already moved to 105! I can see that some more will move too & after waiting some time for that I'll look into what's going on with the last few. With maintainance frozen & the transition branch likely to be not used by many for a while...

Re: Spring 105.0 released: maintenance release
+1 on releasing this and finally calling time on maintainance. Re github release, I've never actually tested it but Github claims to block pushes with >100Mb content https://docs.github.com/en/free-pro-team@latest/github/managing-large-files/conditions-for-large-files. The debug symbols are 150Mb fo...
