Re: Map: Vein
Worldmachine was too aggressive in eroding down my heightmap. Originally they were going to be little plateaus only air could get too. I was going manually edit the heightmap, then got lazy and decided to do nothing with them :P KasierJ: The "standard" combo nowadays, WICed and Worldmachine.

Re: Stupid bots
Making an FPS analogy is irrelevant due to the fact players don't host their own FPS servers, relying on dedicated servers.
I find the number of auto hosts laughable personally, but I figure filter players greater than zero is a better way to deal with it than raging on the forums

Here's my attempt at a bot/veh hybrid map, trying for something a bit more interesting than just randomly throwing in hills :P 5v5, 16x16. http://spring.jobjol.nl/show_file.php?id=1989 http://spring.jobjol.nl/jpg_uploads/1240217125.jpg http://spring.jobjol.nl/jpg_uploads/1240217026.jpg http://spring...

Re: New Map .. Paridise-Dry-V3.0 ...
your height maps are entirely too random for my taste
the top side has considerably less land to build on initially (2 players are supposed to start in potholes to get metal?), and the bottom gets the further advantage of having 2 massive ridges to porc up on

it looks like an atlas that lost about 99 tons (which isn't actually a bad thing, just a pointless comment)

here's my WIP
I still need to make the heightmap a bit more "natural" (while sticking within a terrace style for easy visual cues, playing in f4 sux)

Re: The website (yes, again)
From memory all you did was install a wiki with an ugly looking skin and said "here it is, put content on it".
I don't think this gives you any right whatsoever to start spouting bullshit about fnordia "daring" to make a new website.
