Re: Who Can Set Minimum Engine Version?
I simply don't understand how one has any bearing on the other. 'mature' projects will spin off onto their own infrastructure, a viewpoint I've always disagreed with but can see the merit in. If that is inevitable than it makes sense to me for the 'official' server to essentially be a sandbox of all...

Re: Upcoming lobby server updates
So Ares is right and this whole fucking car crash was avoidable and dumb from the start.
Tell me why I shouldn't just delete this whole forum and be done with you all, utterly pathetic.
Change minimum version to 101.
edit: I'm sorry, this was uncalled for.

Re: The end of the maintenance branch
There's a diff file on mantis, there's a reason there's not a PR (Trying to get git to play ball is a fucking nightmare on windows  ) and the second one is literally-1+2 char change. Way more pointless esoteric stuff gets added all the time. Hoko wouldn't apply the diff because he wante...

Got one of these for each game I have (quite a few!) when S44 autohost updated to new version and I started download as prompted.
edit: a few hours later, tried to update again, same issue plus

Re: The end of the maintenance branch
I'm going to keep banging the drum on 6357 (patch in mantis) and 6402 (changing 2 char) to be included before 105.0.

Re: The end of the maintenance branch
The intention quite clearly is not to drop it but mark 1510 as 105.0. I have a few small bugs I would like to see fixed first, working on bisecting them.

Re: The end of the maintenance branch -- "BA" questions
TASprings founding mod was XTA, didn't realise BA was derived from it.
(It's not, it is of course derived from Absolute Annhilation by Caydr which in turn was based on UberHack mod by BraveSirRobin, i.e. UberHack plus hundreds of 3rd party units mostly used without consent or credit)

Re: The end of the maintenance branch
From what I can tell all the hostility / 'you are killing our project' comes from the previous decision to enforce spring minimum version on the main server. A decision that still baffles me seen as we moved to engine-agnostic hosting years ago. No-one is taking away 104 Ares. You can keep playing BA...

Re: Which TA-derived games work singleplayer
Spring circa 2020 "Lobby sucks; solution new lobby!" This is a symptom of a greater problem: this community really doesn't know how to work collaboratively. The discussion here between FLOZi and AF is a good example of that. I mean, even just that no one actually tried to hep solve mycale...

Re: The end of the maintenance branch
If games work on 104.0 there should not be that much to do for 104 maintenance 1510 and ergo 105.0. I offer my help in this regard. It's little more than a few changed lua API calls. If they don't work on 104.0 ( released circa 2017 ) yet, you have a bigger problem of not having anyone maintaining t...

Re: Which TA-derived games work singleplayer
Then it seems the solution is not to use SpringLobby and that's being worked on, moot Spring circa 2005 "Lobby sucks; solution new lobby!" Spring circa 2006 "Lobby sucks; solution new lobby!" Spring circa 2007 "Lobby sucks; solution new lobby!" Spring circa 2008 "...

@Ares: This is 180 degrees different in how i have learned to know ivand. He cares very much and is willing to progress/push forward/optimize/work together. (and many more strong points besides these). Furthermore he has shown the drive/passion/motivation to see this through. He has talked about th...

Re: The end of the maintenance branch
Fwiw, +1 from me.
It took ~10 minutes to update MCL (untouched since 2017) for maintenance-1510 from 104.0, and would have been quicker had I opened the changelog and looked first.
