Don't listen to the Discovery Channel, it's pure entertainment.
Yeah statements like that mean you can be taken seriously, even if your statement contains small hints of substance.

Re: Obama wins 2009 Nobel Peace Prize

Well i know that they are not the same but im not sure if i haven't accidentally used one word instead the other. Kinda got the topic derailed from my original point, that a ban will not completely stop development which some wanted to argue over which seemed naive for me. The discussion of fusion p...

Re: Obama wins 2009 Nobel Peace Prize

Research on the fusion reactor just as research on standard nuclear reactors has nothing to do with weapon research While i can agree to most of what you said i have issues with this one. I am not saying weapons research = civil research. I am saying that with these types of research and these type...

Re: Obama wins 2009 Nobel Peace Prize

Treaty will be designed to ban nuclear weapons tests -> actual explosions! and not tokamaks There is a reason tokamaks are just small experimental units and not yet widely usable and efficient. If you do not think there are ways to develop weaponry (even thermonuclear) while making it look like reg...

Re: Obama wins 2009 Nobel Peace Prize

It's about testing the weapons. Yeah i got that yet i still don't see how you can effectively remove nuclear weapons tests if you allow nuclear energy tests as the two are so linked it practically impossible. For example, from what i know, to advance thermonuclear power / nuclear fusion power, larg...

Re: Obama wins 2009 Nobel Peace Prize

There is also Obama started major effort for complete ban of nuclear tests (which will stop development of new weapons). I'm not in the loop but wouldn't that actually work against development of energy sources, i.e. thermonuclear fusion? Considering that the technology is still very new (relativel...

Re: Adventure games, RPGs, etc...

BASS is a very nice adventure game. My uncle used to get golden CD-s from EA and other game companies for him to review (since he was part of one of the first CD shops in Estonia) with beta and alpha versions of games. I had my first taste of BASS then, just saw one of the cartoon cutscenes which re...

Re: Adventure games, RPGs, etc...

In fact, every person I know who ran into that problem said the same thing - they went hunting for RUs by winning fights, instead of mining. Idling in hyperspace waiting for hostiles runs the clock. RUs aren't your big worry anyways in mid-game - all you need is a fast flagship and some eluders and...

Re: Adventure games, RPGs, etc...

The digital eel one is more like a time-filler. Play a game and succeed or fail within 15-20 minutes. And yeah, spathi eluders were my income. Just stay in Vux or Ur-Quan space and kill without getting hurt at all while raking in cash. God somehow still knowing the name of the spathi and their ship ...

Re: Bridges and overhangs

How about enclosed bridges that act like tunnels? Unit arrives at entrance and after a little appears at the exit.

Not fancy nor does it allow bridge combat but it should be easier to implement with less hacks, no?

Re: ITT: We discuss the balance of the navy in BA

Can't say sea is completely broken like some like to think it is, when its taken into consideration as sea vs sea. But sea vs Land is broken thanks to already mentioned non-existent berthas and counters to those (sea-s biggest weakness are berthas). More diversity could be used, perhaps flagship be ...

SC2 is a game that is hard to find a similar game to. Pretty much executes all parts of the game right while others usually excel in one area and fail in all others.

Re: X-Plane CEO fails at public relations

One of the moral justification tell myself when using pirated software-> so many people have been prosecuted and charged for "potential" financial loss. I.E. some random mom gets a fine for 30 bucks per song his son has downloaded, even if he and/or she hasn't listened to the music or does...
