Re: Copyright issues in the source files (Engine and Lobby)

Hm yeah, Map/SM3/* seems to be GPL and Map/SM3/terrain/* is still zlib

Re: Copyright issues in the source files (Engine and Lobby)

SM3 code also has MIT or zlib license IIRC (at least something more free than GPL), so maybe someone should change that to GPL to prevent more problems.

Re: A new artificial intelligent opponent - E323AI

JCAI had base mentality Not by design actually, in fact the first version was a cell-based approach. It made small blocks of individual factories+solar and filled the map with it, but this was obviously very inefficient in terms of resource use. So I rewrote it to optimise more for resources, which...

Re: SM3

If it was just bugs, then i'd have finished it, but it's also a design problem. Like Beherith said, it should be a filter tree instead of a pipe.
I decided to rewrite, but never found the time for it.

Re: Reddit is funny

Microsoft pays more attention to usability than spring developers. There needs to be a single download with a single clickable icon and a big "play against AI" button at the start. KP is making progress, but it needs to go further.

sorry from now im not talking to people that are insulting
Im not trying to insult you, it's just a marketing problem. Why would people work with you if you don't take the time to even ask them properly?
Do you buy stuff from websites that look like total crap? No, because they look unreliable.

Re: New Hampshire becomes 6th US state to legalise gay marriage

I know, but you don't get it..
It about a genetic factor. Male reproduction is lowered (because of gayness), so in order for these gay genes to survive in the population, something else has to compensate by increasing rate of reproduction.

Re: New Hampshire becomes 6th US state to legalise gay marriage

Yes, if homosexuality genetically selected, then it will quickly breed itself out in a permissive society where they don't have to hide in the closet and have wives and kids. This is possible. IIRC according to the book "living with our genes", statistically speaking male homosexuality ha...

I would highly doubt the use of mono for unit scripting.
If someone wants to make it, what's the point of blocking?
BTW, Unity is using mono commercially as its primary scripting platform, so some people find it good enough...

Re: Rotation and Mirror code in the tilemap?

Isn't it easier to simply modify the UV coords based on the flag bits at render time?
That won't fit in the current smf map rendering.
The tiles are collected into a larger big tile (128x128 tiles iirc), and those is used to render the map (So there are less texture state changes).

Re: Wild Idea. Splat-map concept.

The idea of using points for splatting doesn't seem logical to me. At least not faster/better than blendmaps. I do agree (I think that's part of your idea) that conceptually, the map renderer should just render a bunch of decals in an optimized way. No difference between lua-generated decals or stat...

Krebs cycle to the citric acid cycle Wikipedia says the citric acid cycle is the krebs cycle. IIRC when there isnt enough oxygen available, mitochondria switch to anaerobic production of ATP (see http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Anaerobic_organism), which creates lactic acid. I'm still waiting for a me...

Re: RE: Lua animation (cob replacement)

Lua has much more features. It takes some time before people understand closures or even types. COB has nothing of that.
