Re: Spring 105.0 released: maintenance release

Abma we called loudly for you to just stop the script (you can just comment out the offending instructions or the likely cron job call) and restore the missing build files, even if temporarily. You could have done that in an afternoon (or an hour). The release took a lot more work. https://springrt...

Re: Spring 105.0 released: maintenance release

If you really want a figure let's say triple it to 360 as a starting point, though raaar's post illuminates why its a misleading question to ask. At what point was 'the number reduced when space ran low', and reduced from what to what? Is the 120 the new figure or the old? see the commit history of...

Re: Spring 105.0 released: maintenance release

If space is reserved for migration and centralization of springfiles resources, great. Does that not increase server costs? springrts.com already mirrors most of the files, so the general disk space usage very likely will stay the same. i tried to explain the problem: can you please at least answer...

Re: Spring 105.0 released: maintenance release

How much donation is required so that server space is sufficient that you will extend the auto delete script? the script deletes all builds which aren't stable releases after 120 days . IMHO thats a very long time. The values were adjusted when the disk space was to low. This script exists, to make...

Re: Spads 64bit

assuming you are using spads on windows: a quick look into the source code of spads leads to this: https://github.com/Yaribz/SPADS/blob/1ab55e3c3598c7305d8b9d0d4ed1feefc52bb80d/src/SpadsUpdater.pm#L40 it seems spads has a hardcoded 32 bit windows: i guess because when this code was written, the win6...

Re: spring engine binaries and debug symbols as a github release

(split topic) the source code from https://github.com/beyond-all-reason/spring/archive/spring_bar_%7BBAR%7D104.0.1-1714-g321b911.zip doesn't contain the git submodules: this very likely makes it impossible to compile that source package. If i remember right, there have been several reports about thi...

Re: Autodeletion of builds & types of buildbot (split from end of maintenance branch)

did anyone try to fix it? is there a pull request which fixes the script so some builds are kept?

locking this thread & moved to offtopic, i see this only as trolling. the next trolling post in one of the "Development" forums will lead to an instant ban.

Re: The end of the maintenance branch

ok, i've tagged 105.0 from maintenance and deleted it. I did not downgrade the buildbot workers. so the 105.0 linux builds will require glibc >= 2.29 as i'm to demotivated to dowgrade the buildbot workers, sorry. IMHO its better to release with "high" requirements than no release. happy ne...

Re: Autodeletion of builds & types of buildbot (split from end of maintenance branch)

people harass you now because things broke and stayed broken for too long and noone else was able to fix them, we don't do this for fun. thats funny, because most of the stuff i maintain in the spring world wasn't made by me. Instead they should blame theirself for not fixing it or at least they sh...

Re: Autodeletion of builds & types of buildbot (split from end of maintenance branch)

@raaar:

what are you talking about?

we have to many people who talk about how things should be.

"howto setup the a build environment for spring": https://springrts.com/wiki/Buildbot:LXC

what do you mean with "spring content api"?

Re: The end of the maintenance branch

If Abma gets hit by a bus we're fucked. GitHub actions has millions of people who know how it works and use it everyday, as do the competitors and opensource systems. Our buildbot has 1. thats not true. turboss + dansan have root access to springrts.com + several people have full github access to t...

Re: The end of the maintenance branch

when all active devs except me dislike to use the buildbot service: why should i keep it running and update it at all? what prevents you from creating the 105.0 release with github actions? this again reflects why nothing happens: to many nonsense discussions which prevents people from doing stuff. ...

Re: [misc] SpringLobby 0.271 released!

the installer says win32 but when it runs it actually displays "SpringLobby 0.271 (windows64)". Misleading. thats a known issue: https://github.com/springlobby/springlobby/issues/983 Another thing that happens is that it won't recognize any of the 32bit engines I had or any of the games/m...

Re: The end of the maintenance branch

thanks, i've adjusted the roadmap.

springlobby 0.271 x64 is released. I try to create 105.0 as next step so reuploading maintenance hopefully isn't needed.

whats the plan with this branch then? should it be merged to the development branch at some point? (just trying to complete the "roadmap")

[misc] SpringLobby 0.271 released!

We are proud to announce the release of SpringLobby 0.271! The new features/changes are mostly minor: - use platform specific download path for the spring engine: linux32/linux64/windows32/windows64/macosx - use platform specific config file sections to store spring engine paths - add engine crash u...
