I don't really care how many languages they support, I just don't know what the advantages are. Right now, I only see less portability, slower startup times (because of the bytecode that has to be converted to native machine code) and users having to download .NET redistributable package. If you wan...

I understand the issues you point out Storm (though shouting in allcaps didn't help), but I don't think they should be solved by not allowing people to make their own group AIs. IMO, it should be solved by showing a list of AIs that everyone is using, and the option to download these from the player...

I'm kindof in the same position as Jonny here, I don't have a working compiler for it. I don't have VC .NET '03 and I'm not going to pay 148 euro for it. Since the code is currently not compatible with GCC or VC6 I can't use it. I would really like to make a global AI though, or help with other part...

Yeah I tried creating a project in DevCPP too. Like you said, GCC does not accept implicit int in a function declaration, such as "virtual SomeFunction (int a)". The TA spring linux port will solve that, but that brings up a question: Will the linux source tree be merged with the win32 sou...

AI's are already in dll form. The global AI code theoretically allows for ai to fight each other. Global AI's aren't even made yet, you're talking about Group AIs, I'm talking about global AI's. Please read some of the other posts. Its not like theres many in this particular forum, and some even ha...

Pluggable skirmish AI

Since I've seen a few people say that they want to make a global AI (I'm one of them), I was wondering, are there any plans to make the global/skirmish AI loaded from a dll? This will make distributing the AIs easier, as you don't have to include spring.exe Such a system could even allow different A...

Battleroom troubles

I've noticed a few weird bugs in the battleroom. One one occasion, someone said something as if he was me. I didn't type anything though text appeared that was from some other unrelated chat room. Today I encountered another bug: When I entered a game from someone other than me, my player replaced t...
