Re: Some water movement tag related criticism
I understand that solution a would be a gadget, with lots of overhead, yes? You can use Spring.XXX functions in unitscripts, too. (If you need unitID as parameter, the unitID of the unit which runs the script is already stored in a variable named "unitID") Something like script.Create() S...

Re: zero-K on spring server
Yes, there is awards, elo etc similiar to it is also on replays.springrts.com Replays can just upload to that site, like other hosts? You can customize Commanders on the zK website (or in lobby, which basically displays the website) but it is not a criticial: There is default commanders to choose fr...

zero-K on spring server
It could be nice to have an autohost on spring lobby server that runs zero-K. I like to play zK and other spring mods too, but the requirement of seperate lobbies puts me off. When you want to play something else beside the big-teams matches it often requires some waiting to find players: Running tw...

Re: Some water movement tag related criticism
I noticed is that hover units that enter water move straight into the upright no matter how deep, or rather shallow they are, i think they should only do this when bellow or equal waterline, which looks very odd but also makes unit movements unnatural which may have a minimal impact on gameplay. Wh...

Re: Rage about moderation
If you split threads then a link and slightly more neutral title would be nice. feel free to change it. done. :regret: Yes, but you made yourself moderator because by power of having control over forum. Which to me is not bad even, but such "self-promotion" contradicts the claims how all ...

Re: Rage about moderation
If you split threads then a link and slightly more neutral title would be nice. I did not bring up moderation and imo it fits into that thread, but ok. funnily i'm both: maintainer of springfiles and engine developer (and i do other stuff, too) I am aware. i'm moderating because i think its better t...

Moderators raging when their fails are mentioned
Historically moderator appointments are nominated by the public in a transparent and democratic fashion, then the current moderator team elects from the the nominations. Wrong, moderation was never organized enough for something like that. 1) abma has 'technical' access to forum and server, how did...

Re: Let's learn from Wesnoth and think about the future of spring
Knorke, remember that testgame, that you, emanuel and i had in jw. That was the only game of jw that ever got played. Realistic perspective, aka as looking down, is the stuff that kills you. I remember that. But I do not remember that you denied all the bugs that it obviously had. I also do not rem...

Re: Let's learn from Wesnoth and think about the future of spring
Interesting, I would like to see your well thought out plan of action to help people who make this mistake get back on track How do you help people who jump out of airplane without parachute? From some mistakes there is no good recovering. If you somehow survive then: First steps would be to "...

Re: Let's learn from Wesnoth and think about the future of spring
What do you want to analyze? Is there anyone left who still does not know about "where the user got stuck"? Maybe read almost every single review ever? The problems are known since years, it is slowly being worked - all good. However there is always dumb "marketing attempts" wher...

not possible to make startboxes in singleplayer-mode of springlobby.
play "online" with passworded room:
go to Map tab, set startposition mode to "chosoe ingame", paint boxes with left mousebutton.

Re: Let's learn from Wesnoth and think about the future of spring
Myself and Smoth have nearly always been on the pro-lua isde, so no, not "the same people". (This is not an invitation for you to quote us out of context in 2005 or something, disclaimer: stress the nearly .) If anything is taking things from "2005" out of context then it is the...

Re: Let's learn from Wesnoth and think about the future of spring
There is no hindsight: All that has happend in past years was predicated and little of it is a suprise. Staying positive has nothing to do with repeating the same obvious mistakes, while learning nothing from it because only seeing world through rose-tinted glasses. And after the damage is done act ...

Re: Let's learn from Wesnoth and think about the future of spring
Funny to see people talk about tdf, cob vs lus, Lua vs engine in 2015 . Perhaps was interessting in 2009, all has been said and done about it long ago. Back then people were screaming "Oh noooo a hacky Lua thing! But I want it in engine!" Now the same people are screaming "Oh nooo a h...
