All you need to do for the mods and maps is download them and place them in the mods and maps folder in your spring home directory, easy peasy.

Auto generation of the linux packages would be a great idea and that i would support.

As for the release schedules im with the OP on this, i think they have laid out some really good ideas, the feature freeze is a good idea and many many OS projects use it.

Installing the proper catalyst drivers will always work better for the moment until the open source ones are up to scratch.

I had a ati card and it seems to work pretty well.
