Happy 13 years of Spring!

Thanks to all players, contributors and developers who helped making Spring what it is and to those who continue pushing its limits in incredible new ways! Happy birthday! We'll hopefully have some big birthday party in a few hours when Zero-K is released on Steam! :-) So spread the word so many peo...

Re: windows protect computers from springlobby

To sign the executables a "code signing certificate" is needed. The certificate costs ~200EUR / year, i don't see me or anyone paying for this. Also the certificate doesn't increase security: a lot of malware with valid certificates where already found. It just increases complexity. Basicly the warn...

Re: TS rating on test hosts

ATM it looks for me like BA-test IS BA. Its to stable / heavily used that it can be named "test" 8)

why not just enable TS for it?

Re: Old "maintenance" builds used for BA autohosts

(atm when you connect after a game has started and if you cant catch up withing time, you'll memory rise rapidly until the limit of 800MB is reached and lua gets disabled and sync errors occur) should be fixed by https://github.com/spring/spring/commit/b5e2016e43d52e8aef3ce112b193fab8b642aa34 or ht...

Old "maintenance" builds used for BA autohosts

a lot of autohosts for BA still use old versions of spring from the maintenance branch. "104.0.1-151-g11de57d maintenance" is most common. the most recent version is "104.0.1-303-g6a15411f7a maintenance" is there a reason for using the old version? it makes debugging / finding + fixing desync diffic...

Re: Compiling maps larger than 24x24? (solved)

I suggest we deprecate all other mapconvs and make pymapconv "the" mapconv. Any objections? IMHO all mapconvs expect MapConvNG should be deprecated because its the only mapconv which can be easily added to the existing infrastructure / distribution methods: - works (?) on linux / windows / osx - gp...

Re: Compiling maps larger than 24x24?

abma, I think MapConvNG needs to be (re-)compiled with -static-libgcc. I only tried the 64 bit one. At the moment (at least on Windows) when run it asks that libgcc_s_sjlj-1.dll be externally present, which it isn't in the current wiki dl. I tried manually placing a version of that dll next to the ...

Re: New mapconv that works flawlessy on linux

I don't think we need to force it as a submodule. It would be *nice*, as it'd force better support and maybe make it easier to combine generation and compilation, but it might fast become too complex (as it'd need to be threaded, like pr-downloader). And as usual it's not the best idea to force unn...

Re: New mapconv that works flawlessy on linux

I'd like to use this tool as backend for compiling maps through SpringBoard. For this I'd need to have an easy way to create Linux and Windows executables, from Linux dev station or with buildbots. Is this possible somehow? add as git submodule in spring? for a windows exe mxe should be used, for s...

Re: Compiling maps larger than 24x24?

for MapConvNG a 64 bit windows executable exists.

not sure if it has some bugs / drawbacks in comparison to MapConv.

(it sucks that we have like 10 of MapConv's: all with different bugs / drawbacks)

@triton: whats the md5sum of Springlobby-0.264.exe? it should lead to the same result as here: https://www.virustotal.com/#/file/4a4fa0364435d40507ac81d798cb6d9956a887599aa9195df168d92d7aef871a/detection (if its really just signing, then https://sourceforge.net/projects/osslsigncode/ very likely has...

[website] Major bug fixed in Rapid / streamer.cgi

some stupid bug was fixed in streamer.cgi which is used at server side when games are downloaded via rapid. streamer.cgi did not close the file handles used for reading files from the rapid pool. This made it send invalid data after more than 1024 files where opened. As streamer.cgi is closed after ...
