Re: SpringFiles website down ?

the dns entry of springfiles.com is wrong. it should point to 37.187.92.174 but isn't. i've notifed the owner, but i'm out of control of this.

i can only wait and ... lets see what happens.

springfiles.com migrated to new server!

springfiles.com was migrated to a new server!

as i'm on vacation i can't handle issues related to it atm: i've hopefully fixed the biggest issues for now. When i'm back i try to handle the (if there are) remaining issues.

edit: github is down, too: did they migrate it to azure? :scnr:

[misc] flatpak of SpringLobby for linux users released!

SpringLobby is now officially available as flatpak. This allows the installation of an up-to date version of springlobby on most linux distributions. The flatpak of SpringLobby is published at flathub. For installing look at the install instructions. If you have already springlobby installed and the...

Re: SpringLobby 0.270 released!

After completing update from .268 to .270, everything seemed to work fine. However, now I cannot connect to server. The "Connect to server" pop-up window says "Already logged in." Tried logging in and out, restart, etc. this usually happens when there is an other springlobby ses...

Re: Retiring/transferring springlobby.info domain

thanks for the offer, but IMHO its not needed any more as the self-updater already uses https://springlobby.springrts.com/ since springlobby 0.268 which was released in December 2019.

Re: The end of the maintenance branch

Thanks for everyone supported, but the head wind is too strong. I now realize I don't want to spend my time on that. That's a tragedy. Someone sadly stepped onto the shitstorm mine. The trolls who awoke had nothing to do with this, they are just the usual BA-drama-trolls: moderating them just takes...

Re: AAI under development again :)

My first goal is to finish the refactoring of some core components. After that I would raise a PR on the "official" AAI repo. Are there any active developers left? I noticed some forum posts from abma, would you be willing to merge my changes some time in the future? yes, for sure! please...

Re: Who Can Set Minimum Engine Version?

the decision heavily simplified was: switch off springrts.com/springfiles.com/springlobby.com or restrict 103.0 on the official server. what would you choose? i still fully agree with kloot, supporting very old versions of spring is really frustrating, i don't want to do that. Thats why i vote and v...

Re: The end of the maintenance branch -- "BA" questions

Has this had the intended effect of increasing adoption of newer versions? If so – say so, clearly, publish your reasoning and stand by your word vindicated. If not – again, please say so, clearly, and issue an apology and revoke the ban. it revealed that several autohosts where unmaintained, reduc...

Re: The end of the maintenance branch -- "BA" questions

Additionally it doesn't run on Mac and all Mac compatible versions are banned. Why don't you unban the Mac players? Would you like it if Linux was banned from playing Spring? we had very few players on osx. it was apple who removed opengl apis and so broke spring. also you could install some linux ...

Re: The end of the maintenance branch -- "BA" questions

why did nobody fix or fork BA to work with spring >= 104.0? shouldn't the players apologize to the ba devs? there is basicly no bug report at the ba repo about issues with the current ba version which works with an engine which is allowed on the offical server: https://github.com/Balanced-Annihilati...

he was incapable to be part of the spring community: so its maybe best if he continues to work alone which he already does on springfightclub as you say.

if you care, don't demotivate the only people which do or did useful for spring: thats the result of your recent posts. i don't know why you are a fan of mando: he did nothing for spring. he crashed autohosts and personally attacked people: he was only destructive.

Re: The end of the maintenance branch -- "BA" questions

Give engine access to Mando instead of Ivand, as previously stated. AFAIK mando can't program at all: at least he didn't show other by creating pull requests or bug reports: why should we give him access? also access is not needed to create pull requests... atm its even unclear if ivand will get wr...
