The l2 transports need a buff to keep up with the l1 ones, they should probably be given similar flares, and mabye increase their ascent/descent speed...

this "without any loss of detail at all" thing is basically that sping's rederer asumes any six sided cylinder is treated as roud anyways... or so rumor has it... and if it's true then basically spring is going to ignore those polys anyways so you can probably leave them in their without any issues...

Also, some places, like the leg joints on the storm, can have less polies without any drop in detail at all.

A fair bit of the detail on these could be done through bumpmaps, but seeing you've already made it, nevermind...

As neddie said, the similarity of units is in style, for instance, l3 laser tanks are nothing like l1 laser tanks.

Can we get an option to either control the alphatest value via script or have it follow the building process, i.e. it'd start at making only surfaces with alpha >=255 visible, then decreases as the unit is built and reaches >=1 visible when the unit is 100% built?
