Re: Questions about engines downloads

Yes, for the purposes of testing the game, it's not always the latest test version that we want, so its better if it's easy to switch between versions easily. Luckily it's just a matter of changing the automanaged setting in spads.conf, but the problem I have is finding the path and name of the conf...

Re: SPADS AutoHost

Would it be possible to have a an accessor to the module in spads that loads those files? Because it's obviously better to just download what you need, but ity's also better to download the engine before you restart the autohost. I'm thinking about the DownLoadArchives and SetEngine plugins.

Questions about engines downloads

How does spads download a new engine if this isn't found? Does it use pr-downbloader? Because there's a small issue: pr-downloader puts the stuff in a folder called: springdatadir/engine/103.0/ Whereas spads appends -linux64 to the folder name: springdatadir/engine/103.0-linux64/ Is it possible to m...

Re: replay upload account without ingame time will be deleted

The *berries are running on the replay host itself, the password doesn't leave the system for the replay upload. Just shutdown the autohost for 5min and connect with springlobby and the autohosts user+pass and spectate or play a match. 5min downtime should be acceptable. I have an issue with my GPU...

Re: replay upload account without ingame time will be deleted

When was this decided?

I do not have the possibility to play with the autohost accounts and having a separate account was recommended at the beginning, since the password is sent in plain text.

Re: What exactly do current game developers want?

I think you need to elaborate a bit: total memory usage can be monitored by external tools such as Process Explorer.

Rules for XTA berries™ autohosts

To whom it may concern, Because of the recent interest in the topic (cf https://springrts.com/phpbb/viewtopic.php?f=16&t=36406), I have decided to formalise some rules regarding the XTA berries™ autohosts, which are formally managed by me, but I like to be able to delegate a lot of responsibilities ...

Re: [website] lobby server update

I'm just saying that documentation is important, not only for the current user-base but for the future as well. It's quite hard to predict the future so it would be better to be transparent as much as you can.

Re: [website] lobby server update

For details of the changes, see the git commit log . If the policy is nowadays to just delegate the changelogs to git logs, then may I kindly ask to improve a bit on the git log messages themselves, for example, messages like these are not very specific: @abma abma notify client about invalid data ...

Wow, thanks for the open answer, it's appreciated. What about looking at the same guidelines from the point of view of Total Annihilation: of which BA is also a fork. We are using their artwork, unit names, concept, etc and I'm not sure anyone has asked them either. I guess BA is itself a fork from Absolute Annihilation, which also retains the Annih...
