But Forb, what about the navigation bar?! With no links, our users won't be able to get anywhere!

I'm just interested in BAR, I'd like to see it do well, what with all the work that various people have put into it.

Re: bad ui
that would take away from competitive element that it has I don't think so, it will only shift the competitive element further to macro, and unit compositions as opposed to micro and APM. Whether that's desirable or not, is a matter of taste. Yes, actually, this is more accurate. I suppose with suc...

Re: BAR subforum?
This topic is about the BAR subforum no?
Anyway, BAR could really use a subforum at this point imo. Just call it w/e and it can be renamed at a later date when a name is decided upon.

Re: bad ui
Heh, I kind of have the opposite idea in regards to micromanagement than you Jaz! I'd imagine that majority of BA players happily welcome reduction of microing when done in a non-obstructing way. Majority of the micro-reduction widgets are exactly that; Completely invisible. Exactly, and I complete...

Re: SpringLobby 0.219 released!
Doesn't seem to download games as is. There's a bunch of different URLs displayed in "Downloads" tab and supposedly the game downloads in an instant, but actually doesn't. Think it's trying to download some web pages instead of the actual game. I confirm that Last Ba 8.17 17 files tries to be downl...

Re: bad ui
Honestly Jaz, that's just a longer version of "bad ui, replace with red ui". Equally useless to the developer. You should be able to point out the exact things you think are wrong. "Insane amount of Lua stuff" -> Games are written in Lua, they're expected to be Lua heavy. We're actively pushing to ...

Re: bad ui
In all honesty, most Spring things have not-so-great UIs. I don't want to come across as overly critical here, but I think it's safe to say the majority of content creators' backgrounds in this community is more on the development/code side than the UI and design side. In fairness to OP, I do think ...

Re: DSD or big games discussion
You should do pickups! Warsow has these every day and I really look forward to them. I think it keeps the game alive tbh. If you're not familiar with pickups, they're essentially just organised games on-the-fly. You have a bot that keeps track of players who want to play who can use IRC commands lik...

Re: New Open Source Gaming Community (rewards, reward matches
I thought this was spam till I saw the same post on the Warsow forums and then realised that it was just a badly thought-out but actual service. You guys might want to work on your design and marketing. Maybe hire somebody to rewrite the text on your site in better english.

Re: DSD discussion
The majority of games I've played, especially indie ones, tend to have this one map that gets played waaayyy more than anything else. In Quake Live it was Campgrounds, in Warsow it's wca1 and in BA it's DSD. I don't know the exact reasons why this phenomena occurs, but it would definitely be an inte...

Re: improved Healthbars widget
Maybe all widgets included with BAR should be automatically prefixed with BAR_ or something to make it easy to tell which are bundled widgets and which are custom?
