Sorry guys, it seems i need a serious whack in the head. Somewhen between last night and this morning my server (a headless box in a cupboard) restarted and since there was no error message from AFLobby i never even thought about checking if TASServer was running properly. Beside me not thinking of ...

With this release I have problems logging into a server i run locally. AFLobby chokes on hashing the last map. At first I thought that was a problem with the map itself and removed it from my maps directory, but the problem remains. There is no console output and the window itself stays responsive. ...

I completely agree. A good example being the AFLobby linux thread where he's just posted he doesn't have linux.

At least his avatar isn't flashing anymore, yet quite unnerving...

Well under windows that problem vanishes yet for some reason things are different under Linux. If I run aflobby.jar, how do I retrieve the location to that file programatically without user intervention, config files, command line parameters, or pre-defined install locations? System.getProperty("us...

sweet jesus you're giving me a headache.

the "dependencies" you just edited in (your 7th edit) are mostly development headers necessary for compiling spring.

do you have a basic understanding of what you're doing or do just take bits and pieces from the wiki and try them out?

alright, my attempt at being subtle didn't work... after following your "tut" one would still have to take the steps described here now that you've edited your initial post to point to det's packages it gained a little in usefulness. but still that should have gone into the wiki. edit: seems you jus...

Re: [WINE] TASpring

CoolyOriginal wrote: echo '$HOME/.spring' > /etc/spring/datadir

that's probably because you don't have a directory named spring in /etc . try "sudo mkdir -p /etc/spring" before that command.

try looking at the linux wiki page

also install packages are available here

For one thing TS doesn't work very well on linux. At least last time I checked about 2 months ago. The other thing would be attracting new players. Imagine you're not accustomed to using TS (or an alternative) and just discovered Spring. You wouldn't have to install a client, much less worry about c...

Teamtalk wouldn't be usable for integration. The standard sdk with no linux support costs ├óÔÇÜ┬¼600. One of the developers said it would be possible to port it to linux, with a full source code license at ├óÔÇÜ┬¼5000 that is. This applied to a commercial project. I didn't find any info on license f...

If you've got a nvidia card:

- on windows: do not use twinview, so windows will think of the two screens as one with a double wide resolution. If you're going for 2560*1024 you'll have to enter it manually into the settings file

-on linux: do use twinview

NOTA config is working now. Apperently I (or the GUI I used) messed up the archive extraction by overwriting the AI/NTai/NOTA.tdf with the AI/NTai/configs/NOTA.tdf Still nothing with XTA though. I have confirmed that AI/NTai/XTA_BT2.tdf points to an existing AI/NTai/config/XTA_BT2.tdf, tried XTA v8....

NTai for Linux

Hi. I have compiled svn source (rev 4214) of NTAI for linux (x86). You can get it here: spring.unknown-files.net/file/3469/NTAI_-_linux_build/ It was compiled against the spring source from the 0.75b2 tag. I had to change some lines to get it to compile (using g++ from within Netbeans 5.5.1). Here i...

Hello, I have compiled current (rev 4214) svn source of NTAI for linux. You can get it here: spring.unknown-files.net/file/3469/NTAI_-_linux_build/ Please note that I haven't done any play testing other than verifying correct startup. I had to edit 4 lines of code to get it to compile. I'll drop you...
