BA should IMO not seek to include every cool widget there is.

Widgets should be an external thing you go and find and download and pick to your own taste (and develop your own, I got into spring mod development and lua out of a desire to try making my own widget).

It doesn't sound like a bug, as a spectator you are assigned a players team - you see their resources and can turn LOS to their view and can change team with the number keys. When the game ends you see the Game End screen for the team you were watching afaik which is a nice touch.

My personal opinion on the matter has been that if you own a copy of OTA there is nothing illegal about using the game content to play BA and it falls within the open moddable spirit of the original game. BA doesn't make any money so there's no financial interest in trying to shut down this communit...

There's a little GUI widget that shows how much they're making, and I have also commited a change to BA to have them open and close again which will hopefully be in the next release

Just a note if anyone doesn't notice this subject is from Sep 12, 2010 and there's a newer version of ETA at http://springrts.com/phpbb/viewtopic.php?f=44&t=24016 which I stopped working on due to lack of in game feedback (was liking the changes, but some needed tweaking).

It overrides attack commands vs the ground and adds 24 height to them, so the attack is made in the air and the projectile overshoots (as in FPS mode). BA has a gadget which ensures any floating attack commands issued in this way are locked to the ground and the above was a proof of concept I wrote ...
