Btw if you scroll back to page 5 I also made this point, no silly excuses needed

Noone is denying it gives results, just that it's not the only thing causing lag as this sentence seems to suggest

Well my computer isn't really good enough to run crysis on full graphics at 30+ fps all the time.. but it soaks up green balls like a pedo in a candy factory

Good enough to run crysis but not good enough to render 20000 small green balls... very interesting...

Re: Balanced Annihilation 7.31

Guess I live in the 21st century then. Maybe it's time to return to the 90's with 90's technology. Is it really that hard to render 20000 green balls moving in a straight line with limited lifespan?

Re: Balanced Annihilation 7.31

decreasing animated parts of ak and flea gives best effects tbh. What, when, how do you know this? If you have a fixed lag version of BA please post it! also easiest way to decrease lag in later parts of the game is to replace current nano effect. reducing nano-particle-something (forgot name) make...

Try it yourself

Simple test: give 1000 aks, zoom out, move aks, zoom in, record fps, repeat with stumpys

Re: Balanced Annihilation 7.31

I intend to focus on performance for the next release. 1) is already very promising, reduces the draw time of fighters, bladewings to less than half. AK's are also extremely wasteful, since they have 27 pieces, out of which only 15 are animated, a 60% increase in frame rate can be obtained just by ...

Re: Balanced Annihilation 7.31

There are simple solutions to many of the lag issues. 1) models (more specifically - reducing model piece number) 2) widgets (ie/ MM widget creates a large draw on the network) 3) creating new units that are scaled versions of others (ie/ supernano that is 10x better than standard nano, will reduce ...

Re: Balanced Annihilation 7.31

Now to Nixa: 90% the reason I never considered you for this handover was your constant forum rage against me and I'm not sure why you feel the need to continue it in this thread. If anyone wondered why NOiZE asked me (a pretty unknown player) to take over BA it was because I sent him patches and fi...

Re: Balanced Annihilation 7.31

You will past so damn hours looking for bugs! I would like to thank Niobium and Nixa for their massive contribution to BA by converting all the fbi's to much more localized and readable lua files, and for the numerous bug fixes they implemented in 7.30. The hitsphere gadget removal increased all un...

Re: Balanced Annihilation 7.31

Look Wombat, I don't want to elaborate anymore. You're just bad - Here's the central idea. Commandos are balanced by costing a fuckton for their performance and easily being stopped by a single ground turret Again, a fighter wall. You'd need that to survive any legitimate air attack, why do you ign...

Re: Balanced Annihilation 7.31

Air should be stopped by anti air... but cost for cost it isnt (when large quantities are concerned)

But then again, the air is completely seperate from ground ATM so I wouldn't expect it to be.

Re: Balanced Annihilation 7.31

How about giving fatboy some of its range back? I think it should be able to outshoot pitbulls and vipers at least (like it could in ~<110 grav), if not the full 800 it used to have listed. Whilst not a bad idea, I think their stats (other than range and velocity) were largely balanced for >110 gra...

Difference is, he maintains it using community input as the driving force. (Or atleast, that's what I assume is happening from what I've seen.) It may be 3 in the morning and I may be completely drunk... but I still lol'd at this. If you call updating every 6 months with tweaks that may affect 0.1%...
