Re: Bitcoin mining made easy

Congrats on the doubling..but I've been reading that the US govt wants to crackdown on bitcoins..

ASICs also seem to be widely available now, including on retailer just a few kilometres away from where I live. But they are damn price.

Re: Bitches dunno bout mah zerg

The game clock is based on normal speed, which hardly anybody uses outside of training games. In ranked games, time is sped up by 38%. So when it says 1 minute in-game, only ~43 secs passed. This means you must also multiply APM to get the correct figure i.e. 50*1.38=69. So if Forb gets 110 APM that...

Re: French lobby

But then a better matchmaking system made up of leagues would have been better. The core of the problem is that newbies should simply not play with pros. Look to the StarCraft 2 ladder system for a proven way of handling things. Is it really realistic to think about such a league system with curren...

bibim allow us to rep players out of game using twitter, reddit and Facebook likes. We also need an API for smartphone apps. I believe in this, it's the future. Nothing can stop us now.

Re: Advanced Fusions need to be tweaked

Why not 100x blast while you're at it? I rarely play BA now. When I do most people put adv fus in the middle of their base like a day0 noob. So go find a cure for stupidity and give everyone an antidote. Problem solved. ;-) If you make them too costly to lose people will just spam regular fus instea...

I also can't see how this is an appropriate solution to the problem, but I agree it exists. On the bright side perhaps this could rekindle growth by wiping the slate clean and evening out the playing field. But then a better matchmaking system made up of leagues would have been better. The core of t...

8gb and no swap file. Could be that it's not enough, since it usually takes a while to crash.

Re: Total War Rome 2

It has not crashed since my last post. The problem I have now is corruption and those damn pesky noble uprisings. I know squalor is supposed to balance things out when one faction gets extremely rich, but it feels wrong to have to forego building upgrades everywhere. The update tried to address this...

Re: AMD "Mantle"

ATI/AMD graphics drivers have historically been poor from my experiences and what I've seen of other people. If they cant build a basic driver for such a widespread stable API such as OpenGL, what hope is there of them building an entire API of their own Worked fine for me, Linux included. For Spri...

Hm well there was a (?)~300kb challenge some time back(although I guess it is over by now). If you are into that sort of thing, you could try doing a tileset-based map using lua that is really small..

I'm so sad to see even here people buy into the marketing web of lies . Who in here would you be referring to? Style to me is something subjective, leaving you free to draw your own conclusions based on your opinion. If anything, I would say the nerd who spends lots of money upgrading his PC to pla...

Re: AMD "Mantle"

X1 and PS4 both have AMD GPUs, so AMD have some leverage there. With a big company like EA on board..well to say the least, it could be a very different story than during the 3DNow! days.

Re: Overpowered faction

I agree that spamming is what wins games now since crowd control units are not effective anymore. Buffing pyros would help. Reduce their self-d damage a bit and in turn increase their survivability with ~12% more HP and ~7-9% more DPS. Banisher kind of sucks right now, they used to have better splas...

Re: Total War Rome 2

I have been playing this since yesterday now (bought it online). It's quite nice, lots of depth added over RTW1. This game certainly feels much more complete, although the technology tree, diplomacy and economy parts are rather simplistic still. One thing that bothered me is figuring out all the str...

Re: anything against the removal of the SM3 map format?

You could be limited by fill rate. It is not faster for you, but might be on another hardware setup.

Even if you had evidence of speedup on that map, it is completely flat and ugly.

The way I see it, Argh's argument(no pun intended) is rife with fallacies.
