Mufdvr, come on, that metal map isn't right and you know it! All the Cavedog lava maps produced 0.2 metal everywhere on the map, normal amounts on the actual metal extractors. It's a detail that can't be overlooked!

Well, FileUniverse tracks downloads. There are about 3400 downloads from FU alone. Also, if you will recall, you have to register a name the first time you go to the lobby, so I'm sure it'd be easy for the SYs to get the number of total register names...

Well, the main thing with different models is the location of the firing point. In OTA, you could simply kind of raise the firing point of say, a Samson, to allow it to fire over any wreckage... Sure, it could be made so the models have the exact same firing point location, but the slight difference...

Someone never used DOS as a child... Use the "cd" command to go to the folder where mapconv is located. For example, if you have it in C:\Games\Spring\maptools\, type: cd c:\games\spring\maptools\ Then do whatever you do for compiling maps. If there are spaces in any of the folder names in the path,...

And shadows require an uber graphics card. Not really. I have a USD$70 Radeon 9600SE, and it plays just fine with shadows, reflections, and lots of units running around (though the game does lag kind of hard when issuing commands to very very large groups of units, I assume that's more of a CPU/RAM...

Heh, yeah, Olympus Mons is pretty tiny there... (it's about the size of France)... at least it's taller than a commander, though... I don't think planetary maps really work at the scale spring can currently handle, it'd probably be best to stick with specific interesting regions for now.
