Re: Concept art unit sketches

Those concepts were done by Niklas Jansson of AndroidArts originally, weren't they? See http://www.itchstudios.com/psg/ta/ta.htm Edit: Yeah, now I see the link above. Sorry, old news. I don't really like his new storyline - the Con seems sort of bland in particular, but the idea of a single player c...

Those were construction noises from the Chinese bulldozer in CnC Generals. Not that it makes it any less lolwut.

Re: C&C Tiberian Sun for free

Generals is included in the 10 year anthology. Which includes all the C+C games except cnc3 and ra2. So it's still available through the regular places.

Of course, now that they've released all the older games for free, the pack has a lot less value...

Re: Real Life Monkeylord.

Well, this thing utilizes a neural network (a pretty naive one at that), while big dog uses multidimensional state space tunneling, which is ultimately a simpler model but much harder to comprehend, at least for me. So, you know. Neat hardware hack with the six legs, but it's been done. About a deca...

First attempt was migraine inducing fail but I got it eventually. Very cool. Not something I could stand to watch for more than a minute or two though.

Haha, also if you ever faced it uphill and north at the same time it would shoot itself in the foot with it's railguns. Which, since they were anti-vehicle weapons would do a pretty good job of self-destruction.

Eh. Who do I think is the less ethical company... Google or Time Warner?

Google would be a step up for me, and I imagine likewise for a lot of people state side.

aGorm, that's the nicest model I've seen in anything Spring related. The way his back greebles hold tension like he's ever so slightly hunched over, all action pose - amazing.

X-COM extremely cheap

So, IIRC several members of this community were big fans of the XCOM games, so I figured I would pass along the news that Steam is having a sale this weekend - all 5 games for 2$ (that's 2$ total, not 2$ a piece). If, like me, you missed the xcom games (had a mac as a kid) you might want to get on b...

Re: are macs alrite?

I've used a mac as my primary machine for years. They're more expensive - not as ridiculous as people claim, most of the extra that you are paying is for high quality hardware, but a small amount of it is unavoidable "cool tax" :( The hardware is rock solid - not to say I've never had a problem, but...

Re: New Hampshire becomes 6th US state to legalise gay marriage

NH is pretty good for the "do whatever you want, just do it off of my lawn" style politics. It's nice because there are relatively few laws hassling you for shit, but it's bad because it's hard to get the whole state to agree on important things (like funding the public school system). Disclaimer: I...

You'll probably want to re-set everythings firing timers at the end of ever order phase, too. So that you have units that fire X times per turn instead of X times per second.

I've always thought a fantastic game mode would be a tower defense where each player had half the board to build towers (maybe not just cut in half, either, maybe interlocking spirals or something) and was also responsible for choosing what creeps spawn for his opponent. Obviously for balance the to...

yeah, we're probably the last generation that learned proper calculus. In 10 years, all that matters is whether students are able to use wolfram alpha. Re: Screenplays for Bori missions 4 and 5

Yes, the plot is the fun and interesting part of making a mission - essentially the reward you get for doing all the hard parts. It seems unlikely someone will do all the hard parts just to reuse someone else's fun part.
